are we to belive that things are as we wish for them to be,and could it be that the [media ] is [helped] to change what we all think about each topic,I realize most things that we are informed about Via the media are not always as they seam, in turn could it be possible that we are all the subjects of a large game of power and we are mer sheep or worker ants in the game ? if so could this mean we truly have no say about any part of what happens to us as a nation ? has it been shown in the past that any that we have voted for have not been corrupet? did all americans come to this country to get away from such things in England /Irland/ land lords over taxed and took what they wanted including the ladys, is this true? help me understand what is the same and what is different, now and before, did we really gain some type of freedom or did the old saying the british are coming the british are coming,mean they will always fallow where their is a profit to be made and victoms to control ?

I was hanging around the courthouse listening to the election results and was in a discussion with some people there. I found out some of these people voted for the worst candidate because they felt sorry for them and wanted them to have some votes. I would never do this myself because if enough people did this then a nimrod could get elected.

So have any of yall voted for a candidate because you knew they would lose and why did you vote that way?

I'm watching the Lamont vs. Lieberman race on T.V. and I started wondering... Why wouldn't you always vote for the new guy?...
Also what are the criteria you consider when voting. And how do you pick when you've never heard of either person running for the office? And do you vote for women just because they're women or pretty.... or, do you never vote for women just because they are women? I'm curious

Everybody complains about politicians and yet it is us, the citizens (if you live in a democracy) the ones who put them there, either by voting for them or by simply being indifferent to the process. Would anybody really vote for someone honest? Someone who came out and said we have to make sacrifices to reduce our debt, improve our invironment and make our health care sustainable? And that to do all this we'll have to raise taxes, quit all the porking and that things will probably get worse before they get better? Be honest. Would you vote for somone who, for example, said that you'd have to pay the real cost for your SUV and your suburban lifestyle?
