Why feel sorry for someone because they didn't get any votes? Wouldn't a normal person think perhaps there was some REASON they weren't getting any votes......Plus, I never feel sorry for politicians, they have no pity for me or anyone else. I know some people vote for Nader to make a statement, and that's kind of the same thing. You're still voting for a loser, and taking votes away from someone that actually has a chance of winning. To answer the question NO I have, and never will, vote for a candidate out of pity or to make him feel good cus he got some votes. That is simply idiotic.

If a person's reason for voting for any candidate is because they felt sorry for that candidate, then that person whould lose their right to vote in all future elections.
Far too many people base their votes on things that are entirely irrelevant, like the lies they're told in campaign comemrcials. The nation was founded on elections voted on by "an informed electorate". Uninformed voters should not be given a voice. if they want to be a vital part of the election process, they should take the role seriously.

Well, in a sense I also vote for the loser. Not for that reason. I voted outside of my conscience for a candidate in one of the two major parties because I wanted to make sure my vote counted. Big mistake and I still regret it. The libertarians are the ones I want to be aligned with on almost every issue. Even though they lose all the major elections. So, in that way most consider mine to be a wasted vote.

I take the right of voting as a very serious right, and freedom. I vote for the most qualitifed candidate for the position they are running for. I would never vote for someone because I felt sorry for them.

Well, look who we're stuck with right now... Bushwhacker. A lot of people aren't exactly "intelligent" when it comes to these sort of decisions, they may feel sorry for these candidates now, but how will they feel if that candidate is elected and they're left with some screwy dipstick moron that doesn't know left from right? I guess there isn't much you can do about it, except go and vote for the right candidate! :)

Never...but if I believe in a candidate I will vote for him/ her no matter how poorly they are doing in the polls. I wouldn't intentionally vote for a loser, but if that is the candidate I support than the deserve my vote. The winner should know that not everyone supports him, it may change the way he runs things.

Sometimes people just want to be on the "team" they think they have a good chance of winning with, which is why I think Bushie barely won. I don't feel sorry for someone who has made it as far as being on a ballot. Someone must believe in them.

i know some people who have but they called it 'strategic' voting
thing is if you dont vote then you cant complain...and sometimes you can only vote for the best of a bad lot
but voting because you felt sorry for them is just nuts

I can't vote for another 5 months, but that is a really stupid reason to vote for someone.

I would guess that most of the people who voted for John Kerry or Al Gore voted that way. :D
May God bless and keep you.
