Ohio, great weather, low cost of living, nice people, safe. I've lived alot of places, I am not from Ohio originally, and dont live there now, but it was my favorite place.

Michigan.
Living conditions in the States are really good, pretty much every where.
With the exception of areas that have been affected recently by severe weather or catastrophes.

Oregon...two years ago a small town on the Oregon Coast---Florence was named the best town to retire in....population has grown by 12% since then. Oregon has mild weather, no extremes in either direction, many, many opportunities for cultural, educational, and recreational pursuits. Oregon has one of the highest minimum wages in the country and some of the most beautiful scenery...if you haven't been there, you should go.
