hah, because they can no longer justify the war n iraq since there were no WMD's, so if you hate it, they want you out so they can brainwash the american people into thinking that they were right.

Because if you don't agree with the foundational reasons why this country came to be in the first place - why in the world would you live here? If you totally disagree with every decision and are constantly whinning about the state of things and how everything done is a mistake - then why not go live in another country where things are better for you? It's like okay - you're here so do something positive rather than always complaining and saying that nothing is good enough for you. Freedom of speech is one thing but that was never written to include things like burning the American flag - the founding fathers would have a different way of handling situations like we find today - what we have today is a society with no moral boundaries - you can't have freedom without moral boundaries. But, the founding fathers didn't have to address that in the first amendment because long ago it wasn't an issue. I mean okay - if you don't like the food at McDonald's - you go to Burger King or Wendy's right? The only difference is that other countries are equally corrupt and you will find issues there as well.

Look at what you asked and look at the responses from idiots like sway_ii, adam, lisaclara, rukidding and leogirl...
Not all conservatives are idiots like these five though. I know at least one person who is far more reasonable. So I will make a distinction here. I will assume that the reasonable conservatives do not say this, they are open to debate and logic and they are willing to change their minds (albeit slowly) if you can show them the facts. On the other hand you have misborn idiots like sway_ii, adam, lisaclara, rukidding and leogirl, and your question applies to them 200%.
Freedom of speech doesn't need to have a moral boundary as the idiot lisaclara said. Boundary and freedom are opposing ideas. Freedom of speech and expression can only be limited if your excercising that freedom causes someone immediate physical harm. You can't yell "fire" in a crowded place, because it will cause stampede and therefore it can harm people with an immediate effect. Outside of that you cannot limit that freedom on the pretext of "it may be harmful" in the future. Since neither of us can foresee the future, I can argue that my freedom of speech CANNOT be limited because it "may prevent harm" in the future. Whenever I hear "it may cause harm" it makes me think of "thoughtcrime" and the "thoughtpolice". I mean who defines these moral boundaries? huh? lisaclara? why do I have to accept your boundaries? What gives you the right to tell me what my moral boundaries are?
Funny thing the same person said: The country was founded on some principles. YES. And those principles are exactly what liberals are defending. One of those principles IS freedom of speech. In old England, saying something against the king/queen was almost treason. That was NOT freedom of speech. America didn't keep it that way. You ARE allowed to speak up against the government.
Secondly, someone else said, if you are so against the decisions then why don't you leave. No little idiot, I don't have to leave because I don't like the decisions made by the government. If I paint my house red and don't like the color, I don't leave the house. I simply repaint it to some other more benign color. The decisions of the government may not reflect my decisions. Why? Because I didn't choose that government!!! Even if we disregarded the voting irregularities, that government represents only a fraction of the total american population. So how much more stupid could you be? "if you don't support the decisions then leave". Why the hell didn't you idiots leave the country when Clinton was the president? You bi.tched about it enough. You should have left. And what's more you should have been held for treason for speaking up against the president. Why didn't that happen? The idea of democracy is "I CHOOSE MY GOVERNMENT". So if I don't like the government I change it. The example someone gave of Wendy's or McDonalds or Burger King. If I don't like one I choose the other. EXACTLY. Dead on. If I don't like the republicans then I will choose an alternative and I have the right to tell others about my choice and ask them to change their choice as well. When conservatives say "don't like it then leave" it is akin to me telling someone "if you don't like McDonald's then starve".
Third, these conservatives don't even know what America is. They think that this particular landmass with the two oceans on two sides is America. And they think that that's what makes it great. Listen up idiots, America is a concept in our minds. It's a concept of the perfect country where freedoms are not limited, where you can strive to do your best and be your best, where everybody starts the race from the same startline. It was founded on the principles of "liberty, equality, fraternity". So yes, if we liberals leave this landmass and go somewhere else, America will leave with us. You will fall back into the dark ages sooner than you can even imagine. America is where we live with our liberal principles and you, yes you close minded conservatives are invited to live here too. And if you don't like the way we live here, you are the one that is free to leave, because you and your conservatism is not part of America. Don't mistake the geography for America. America exists in our minds. It is a lofty ideal. And you dare not try to limit the freedom of our minds and you dare not try to reduce the loftiness of our ideals. For that is treason.

Neocons always fall back on the same old stuff when they do not want to talk about their own failures. I heard it all during Viet Nam, what they say now is not much different then what they said then.
They claim to support the rule of law only when it fits their own needs. They also claim to Support the Constitution. At the same time they trash it with "America love it or Leave it".
The real truth is Neocons hate the Bill of rights, they also hate it that we are free to speak out against the Un Godly acts they do.
BTW, Biker, and you are not in Iraq now why? Hitler would love you as his subject in Germany.

yes it is, but people on both sides seem to think that only they should have freedom of speech. The point is when people say that is that if you are so upset with the way things are and hate our goverment as well as the people who vote that governemnt in, then why not leave, you might be happier somewhere else.

We hear many complain and whine about this country. How they hate it, they hate the government, they hate everything. We do have many freedoms and one of them is to live where you are happy. If its not America then leave. Many promised to leave and didn't.
Many of the liberals are not just disagreeing with the war. Their venom is creating an emboldened enemy, thus getting more people killed every day.

So many people piss and moan about how evil our country is and how stupid we are here in America, but do nothing about it but piss and moan. We offer many freedoms that so many take for granted and don't even realize it. Leaving is a good way to understand how good life in America really is compared to some of the other alternatives.
