Michigan is the best kept secret. It really is a "Water Winter Wonderland". Sure the auto industry has left the area. It has opened up a rare opportunity waiting to be scoop up. There are great homes on the market for practically nothing and many are even lake front property. There is the opportunity to come up with creative ways to direct the future.
There is no need to waste precious energy trying to join Canada. Use that same energy to come with new industry for that beautiful state. How about a clean industry that doesn't damage the beautiful fresh water that abounds in Michigan.
