By useless I mean, it's supposed to be a quick recovery device, but if that's true, isn't kind of hard for cops to make use of restraining the suspect, if they can't touch while tazing, and tazing doesn't really work unless while tazing. Does that make sense?

I am afraid of getting a dishonorable discharge or whatever, but I was on an Army ROTC scholarship and got disenrolled for misconduct. My fiancee and I both have really good jobs however instead of allowing me to pay the money back they want me to serve as an E1 for 4 years.

I got pulled over by the school resource officer (I believe he's a deputy) off of school property (not far though, up the street). He asked to see my school ID (not once my license) and took my registration and insurance card. He said to come to his office tomorrow morning for my ticket, and refused to return my registration and insurance card.

Do I have legal ground to fight this on?

Very often the people or group in question have Swiss bank accounts. Don't these banks have a duty to protect their clients' funds?

In the 8th Amendment, Cruel and Unusual punishment is prohibited. The constitution also grants due process to all under its jurisdiction as well as habeas corpus. How then is Guantanamo Bay legal? I understand President Bush signed some referendum but how exactly does the president have the power to waive both the Constitution and the Geneva Convention when it comes to Guantanamo? Plz dont answer if you don't know what I'm talking about.

In Australia, if a statement is made by an alledged victem of crime the police can then press charges against the offender regardless of wether the victem wishes to persue the issue or not. Does this sound fair? This means if you and your best mate have a fight and some-one calls the police, you will be asked to make a statement and your friend could face criminal charges at the police's decision! This means if some-one makes a false statement, the police will charge you and there is nothing you can do about it. The explanation to this is to stop excessive call outs for domestic disputes, which is pathetic because once charges are laid they spend more time in the court room and doing paperwork than protecting the innocent. I thought the Police were meant to enforce the law and the determination of wether a person is guilty was meant for the courts? Charges should only be laid at the request of a VICTEM not the police. What do you think?

Can anyone think of a direct relationship between a socialized healthcare system and education or intelligence? I have made the connection between lead screening for children (lead poisoning in children can lower intelligence, so proper screening can catch it early and allow for prevention/treatnment) that is available to everyone regardless of income. I am looking for more instances, such as average intelligence in countries with socialized healthcare vs. average intelligence in America, etc. Any ideas?

If a 19 year old, male, Illinois resident is on parole for a juvenile felony and violates this parole by not calling and checking in at the required times (he was staying with different friends everynight because he was technically homeless - which is also a parole violation) what is the maximum time that he can go back to jail for?

I am trying to see if there is any coverage of this event in any campaign news, but haven't found any yet. I am not sure why this wouldn't have been reported if she killed a guy and is running for president? Maybe it's because of the liberal media?

Now the Govt. would be very upset by my plan because Social Security has become their private "slush fund" that they break into every so often to use that money for something they've screwed up. But tax free savings accounts & capital gains would only be touched by the people who own them.

I know this plan makes way to much sense & if will probally give most libs a heart attack but I think it would solve a lot of problems especially the Social Security one.

I am going into the marine corps in a few months and am trying to figure out what MOS I want. I will be talking to my recruiter about it soon to decide, but I just want to learn as much as I can about my choices before hand so I have some more time to really think about it. I scored really high on the mechanics portion of the ASVAB, I have always been fascinated with figuring out how things work and thinking of ways to make them better, I am interested in aviation mechanics, vehicles in general, weapons in general especially the type of things they show on the show future weapons. I think I would rather develope weapons and helicoptes/jets and stuff for the military rather than fixing them, so I figured I'd like to be an engineer but I don't know what kind of engineers there are to choose from. What would a recruit do after boot camp if he chose engineer for his MOS?

My answer, hell no. What's yours? Should we really allow someone with no SS#, no Background info, no legal doc, with little or no effort to try and learn the language. I'm 3rd gen P.R. and my grandparents did everything by the book to become citizens and where they are today. It was hell, but they worked hard and did it the 'right way'.

Some cops are very reactive when citizens learn about their civil rights, their constitutional right to videotape interactions with them, what constitute a violation of civil rights and a reason to file a citizen's complaint, etc.

Why do some cops mind literate, informed citizens so much? Why do some resent citizens that take action against brutality and violations successfully, so bitterly?

I am a horrible driver, get tickets constantly. I currently have a lawyer who charges $350 per ticket and gets me out of every one, completely erases it off my record. Now I got a couple in Kittitas county and she said those are $400 a piece. That seems kind of high, does anyone know any lawyers that will get me out of these for cheaper? Thanks

Unfortunately, most Americans do not consider Iraqis as people. We see them as terrorists or victims, not as everyday people with the same values as our friends, neighbors and relatives. Yet, most Iraqis are decent human beings with the same concerns, dreams, and compassion as most Americans. They want peace and are concerned about their fellow man.

Is it no wonder that we feel differently about the people of Iraq, when the American media only reports sensational news? If it doesn’t bleed or explode, you just aren’t going to see it on the evening news. I received a press release from Baghdad today, which I know the mainstream media will not pass on to you all. Here is an example of Iraqi charity and gratitude which touched my soul. Imagine how incredibly generous these soldiers are. They have little to support their own families. It’s not enough that they are fighting daily to bring peace to their country. They are actually reaching out to help unfortunate Americans.
