If a 19 year old, male, Illinois resident is on parole for a juvenile felony and violates this parole by not calling and checking in at the required times (he was staying with different friends everynight because he was technically homeless - which is also a parole violation) what is the maximum time that he can go back to jail for?

He was staying with different friends every night, and none of these friends have phones??
Violate parole and you could spend the rest of your sentence behind bars.

He can be returned to jail/prison to serve out the remaining time on his original sentence that he was released early (paroled). Moreover, if he is committed of any additional crimes (other than parole violation) he will serve additional time for those crimes.

Simply violating probation could get him locked up for the remainder of his parole term. Depending on the details of the violation, he could face additional charges.
