It is an old adage that people only get the Government they deserve. But in a democracy sometimes you have to put up with what everyone else wants even though it is not what you want. Does that mean that you are out of step with most other people? Or is democracy just a big con? Is it out of our hands and just a big scam?

Immigrant, married to a united states citizen with an infant child, was being held on a charge of possession of canibis under 20grams with intent to sell, which was reduced to simple possession. He is set to be sent back to his country at some point this week, as he was moved bak to the Chron Center. Will he ever be able to return to this country. (a lawyer cannot be obtained..$$)

Every time their is a question about the smoking ban, why do people always come up with comments along the lines of,

'Ohh, my clothes and hair smell lovely at the end of a night out!'
'I,ve got ashma'
'What about Roy Castle'
'What about my right to fresh air'

If pubs and bars that did not serve food where allowed to provide smoking areas that where ventalated and self-contained in a way that did not contaminate the rest of the bar at all what is the problem?

For those who don't like smoke for a start in 80% of places their would be no smoking. In the rest when you went in their would be no smoking, when you bought your drinks their would be no smoking, when you went for a wee their would be no smokein the air.

I have a friend charges with robbery that he is claiming he is innocent of. An on-site security camera could substantiate his claim, but the police statement said there was no cameras, when in fact, there are. They either did not ask if there were or simply did not retrieve it. What does this mean for my friend? Also, he is claiming that what the police report reflects as his statement that night is vastly different than the one handwritten by him that night. The original, handwritten statement is nowhere to be found. What can he do about this?

I have a friend in the El Paso County jail (Colorado Springs) who wants to request a new attorney. His current one is court appointed, but not doing a very god job. In fact, his ineptness may cost my friend dearly. The motions hearing has been set for Oct. 31 and his trial has been set for Dec. 3rd. Is there enough time to do this? What is the procedure for this? Any legal links with this info?

There are womens groups in THIRD WORLD COUNTRIES that are organizing right now to try to stop "The illogical and destructive policies of America".

I had to laugh out loud, these women don't organize for better health care or opportunities for their children.....but they are organizing IN THIRD WORLD COUNTRIES to protest BUSH!

It used to be that one voted for political leaders that possessed common sense and work experience. It so appears that now it is based on education from an Ivy League school with a major in political science.

What does a degree in political science from an Ivy League college teach that prepares one to be an expert in everything without having to physically work to gain actual experience?
