I have a friend in the El Paso County jail (Colorado Springs) who wants to request a new attorney. His current one is court appointed, but not doing a very god job. In fact, his ineptness may cost my friend dearly. The motions hearing has been set for Oct. 31 and his trial has been set for Dec. 3rd. Is there enough time to do this? What is the procedure for this? Any legal links with this info?

Probably not going to happen, it is unfortunate but jail house lawyers do not care about the pro-bono work they are doing since in most states its mandatory,

judge unless the lawyer is incompetent or drunk is not going to appoint a new jail house lawyer, and who knows that one could be worst

while you maybe entitled to a lawyer it says nothing about getting a decent lawyer

Is this a made up question? Hahaha this is too funny. You are limiting your happiness. I wouldn't want to marry a county jail inmate if I was you. Bad choice, you'll end up cheating on him. If you do end up marrying him, I'm quite sure you'll be supporting him. Oh hell to the NO!

He can request one. If he is not paying, he may not get one. He would have to explain it to the judge why his attorney is not competent.
