President Bush is to veto a bill that would ban mercury in flu vaccines for children despite its known links to autism and other neurological disorders and despite the fact that he pledged in 2004 to support such a move when campaigning for re-election.

why does the republican party support life right up until birth?

It would seem only logical that a person that is pro-life (on the grounds that human life is inherently sacred) would also oppose the death penalty for the same reasons. it also seems only logical that a person that is pro-choice would not necessarily find the death penalty abhorrent, however, many conservatives support the death penalty and are against abortion and many liberals are against the death penalty but pro-choice.

If you are both pro-life/pro-death penalty or pro-choice/anti-death penalty I would be interested in how you are able to simultaneously hold these two apparently contradictory positions.

Only the republicans think that unemployment is down, and the economy is better than ever? Doesn't anyone pay attention to the details, on how the big companies that are left are filing bankruptcy, or needing more federal aid, just to function? Most of America's things are made over seas. When will we get our companies back, and start provide more high paying jobs for Americans.

This poll says he was; I think he was also!

"He edged out Abraham Lincoln, who abolished slavery, and civil rights leader Martin Luther King.

George Washington, the first US president who is considered the father of the nation, comes in at fourth place.

Current US President George W Bush #6 and his predecessor Bill Clinton #7 , whose presidency was tarnished by the Monica Lewinski sex scandal, are both in the top 10".

Warsaw to erect statue to Reagan

"Polish admirers of Ronald Reagan say they will erect a statue of the late US president in Warsaw to thank him for helping to end communist rule.

They say the 3.5-metre (10.5ft) stone and bronze statue will stand opposite the US embassy in the Polish capital".

I have several questions:

1. Do you favor a requirement that recipients of welfare, unemployment insurance, student loans and other similar types of aid work if they are able to?

2. Do you favor legalized prostitution?

3. If you favor 1 and 2, would you favor any program making the receipt of benefits conditioned on work that could include prostitution? Why or why not, if it's legal? And what other exceptions would you create, if any? (How about a fire fighter? Legal, but dangerous!) Or is it not fair to have ANY exceptions if someone is taking taxpayer money?

I did know people working their way through college as strippers. It was legal, but there was some stigma. Maybe the stigma, and not the illegality, is the problem.

I obviously would not like to see people coerced into prostitution - women or men.

But I'm chiefly interested in your views!

Thanks.

If someone hired a lawyer to request a DNA paternity test, will it cost the petitioner more money to take it to court and get a court order if the person will not submit to one? Is there usually a "set fee" for the process either way or is it more to take things to court? I have an abusive ex who has been harassing me to take a DNA test. He knows it's not his but is just trying to get me upset because he gets no reaction from me otherwise. And I know it would be easier to just give in because I know it's not his...But I don't think that he deserves the easy way out of this. Serious answers only please. And yes, I am aware of the fact that I will have to submit to one if he gets a court order. I just want to know if dragging this out will cost him more? For getting a pregnant woman this upset he deserves it!

For a school to force a manditory dress code [polos, tucked in, collared shirts, no hoodies, no sweatshirts, no teeshirts, and only jeans and khaki style pants..] and FORCE US TO PAY FOR IT. Some of us cant afford buying brand new wardrobes of only collared shirts, and jeans.. I dont think it is right and I hate it. Where are my rights of individuality?!

It seems that that line is usually given as an excuse for a policy that will help some people at the expense of others, or will provide government protection for a specific group. We'll artificially increase steel prices by raising tariffs, to "help working families" - - no, to protect a few steel companies and steelworkers' unions who donated to your campaign, at the cost of higher prices for everyone else.

I mean by that definition the Gambinos "helped working families" - they were a family, they worked, and they helped themselves.

Please provide me with a little insight in this matter because it seems to me that our country never got beyond the elementary popularity-based election strategy. Has anyone else noticed that the people we are voting for are nothing beyond average? When did we start trying to assimilate our highly intelligent into our average public schools? When will we again be in a time that our most influential leaders are also our most trusted advisors? When will we start asking the right questions, and when will we start trusting those giving us the answers?
