why is it americans are so greedy all they really care about is money money

Not all Americans do, but face it -- we're a capitalistic country. Only 30% of the people on the Mayflower were Puritans in search of religious freedom, the others were looking for financial opportunities, as were most of the people in Jamestown.
It doesn't mean wealth and faith have to be mutually exclusive. A lot of incredibly rich people (like Bill Gates, or Oprah) also contribute huge amounts of money toward charity, for example. In fact, America's wealth does allow us to donate huge amounts of money toward causes like helping the Tsunami victims a few years back.

When I was in my car accident, god didn't put my jaw back together, some blurry doctor did. He cost me a lot of money. He was worth it. I can chew today and you can't see from the outside that it was broken. My doctor was also an atheist on a side note. Why would I put money above god? Money pays to get things done!

Money provides me with the things I need to live. If I'm broke and hungry, getting a job is more likely to feed me than praying to god.

I did not know we all did. On average America makes more charitable donations than any other country in the world. But I guess people will say only because it is a tax write off.

Simply because Americans timr after time,issue after issue prove themselves to be monumental hypocrites.
They wear Christ on their sleeves and constantly moralize and do their holier-than-thou thing while they on a massive collective scale trash the Judeo-Christian moral/ethical code.
To read the NEW TESTAMENT (Where Christ lives with his NEW COVENANT between God and His people and NOT the Old Testament where Christ does NOT live but where God livED under God's OLD "Fire and Brimstone" Covenant) and especially the Sermon On the Mount which most theologians point to as the essence of Christ's moral message and then compare all this to the levels of adultery,lying,greed,violence ,racism,hate etc etc etc ,one only then realizes just what monumental hypocrites Americans are.
The prime example of this type of American is of course the Christian Fundamentalists who were founded in 1845 purely to give support to the wealthy slave/estate owners of the South and to give God's blessing to SLAVERY
The entire fundy/evangelican movement in the US was founded to protect/support the filthy ANTI-CHRISTIAN racist slavery.
As this moment ,the US is waging an ILLEGAL WAR of choice all based upon a pack of FILTHY ANTI-CHRISTIAN LIES that has resulted in the slaughter so far of over 400,000 INNOCENT Iraqi children of GOD and instead of crawling on their knees into their Churches every Sunday begging God for forgiveness ,for the horrid lies and horrid atrocities that they and their government are perpetrating against GOD'S children,these smug hypocrites strut into their Churches heads held high.
All the mainstream Christian Churches (representing over 95 % of Christians world wide have condemned the US "crime against humanity" war in Iraq as simply ANTI-Christian and an abomination before GOD and this includes Bush's own Methodist Church !!!!
But the American hyppocrites (de facto therefore,liars) keep on with their repulsive ,arrogant,beligerent ,holier-tha-thou moralizing ways .
All of this to say that BY THEIR VERY BEHAVIORS ,the majority of Americans (The majority that knowingly re-elected the lying war mongering Bush) for the most part will kick God in the crotch for an almighty buck or a barrel of oil or like "family values" Senator Vitters, multiple bed partners.
Sorry for the rant but your post was right on but excluded all the other Godly things Americans crap on every day.
For those who want to feel better and need to know that they are not the only vile monumental religious hypocrites ,much what I have written can apply to Candadians,Brits,the French etc etc .This makes nothing "right" only assuages the quilt which most of you SHOULD have but DO NOT.

Good question! I believe that this is the influence of a mass media. (Media that owes its existence to very large multi-national corporations which means that media has become a propaganda machine for same.) By law, corporations must maximize profits.
In maximizing profits, corporations and media are minimizing things of greatest value to the greatest number of people.
