Considering the gap between the wealthy and middle class has be increasing for many years I feel this will help.. But we also need to look into lowering the taxes for the lower class too.. We are taxed on pre taxed dollars and taxed again and again on that same pre taxed dollar..
If you ever take the time to actually listen to Edwards and not be steered by the bad press and the republicans who are in bed with the oil and insurance companies, you'll see he actually makes sense.. (something you bushies aren't used to).. not saying he has my vote yet but atleast he is in the ballpark and not standing outside selling over priced concessions or lying to us about the real reason they are there!

It would help the economy, but the question is whether it would actually happen.
See the link (1) for a LONG history of such promises.
A really funny one is the Democrats in 1976 (2). Note the appeal to classism and mention of nationalized healthcare.
I don't recall too much praise for the Carter economy and nationalized healthcare is still an ill-considered pipe-dream designed only to appeal to voters, not to actually happen.

well, if a bulk of the public suddenly has more money out of their paycheck, chances are that they'll spend more and travel more, thus, bettering the economy...
or is this for the middle class of that upper 1% that gets all the breaks? hopefully its for the real middle class

I'd love it.
Out of a $1,400 paycheck I only got $900! That's ridiculous. About a 1/3 of my earnings go to State and Federal???
Need to raise taxes for those grossing over $300,000 a year.

Sounds too much like BUSH... that's what he said as he was cutting taxes for Rich corporations....
Now if he really cut taxes for the REAL middle class... then yeah, I'm all for it.
But Bush's idea of supporting "small" businesses was a bunch of rhetoric as we found out. Most of the money went to huge corporations and churches!
I like Edwards on a few things... like Healthcare.

I will bet you 20 that it never happens
tax cut is that what you hear.
I hear between the lines and what I hear is.
We are going to continue the screwing of the people thats what we do. If I was seriously concerned about my country I would not piss my campaign money away on myself and my cronies. I would put the money in an account and use it to help my country.
then he laughs for hours on the floor

This coming from the same John Edwards who made his millions suing HMOs which in turn created greater health care costs for the middle class.
Brilliant.
You can give this statement a thumbs down all you want, it wont change that this is a FACT about this scumbag whos attempting to run for president.
