Immigrants who come to live in the UK and then break the law and are subsequently sent to jail cost the taxpayer over £500 a week for their time of incarceration. They have the free choice to live here, they had the free choice to break the law. should we not have the free choice to jail them in a more economic location for us, perhaps where labour cost and prison accomodation is cheaper ?

There's got to be somebody in the world that knows something about something going on or suspects something about their government that they might want to share with us. Got any inside information? Seen any strange movements of government personnel near your house? Happy to hear from anyone anywhere in the world.

This ties in with a question I still have running...

Some neutrals banked money for countries involved in war, and even allowed them to store their treasures in their banks.

Others allowed troops across their land knowing the purpose was to get to the enemy.

Of course these countries had little defence had they refused.

Also, our troops were a given safe house in these countries, when they were escaping the enemy, and many found their way safely home because of that.

PLEASE REMEMBERI AM NOT JUDGING I am trying to understand how it all fits together.

Whenever I want to prove something I never cite partisan left-wing organizations like democraticundeground, moveon.org, etc, etc. I would not trust anything from a partison right-wing site, so it is only fair that I avoid the same tactics.

Instead I cite well estabished third party sites like:
the Census, Bureau of Economic Analyses, Treasury Department, Department of Labor, Whitehouse.org, National Academy of Science, American Meteorology Society, American Chemical Society, Geological Society of America, National Center for Atmospheric Research, American Geophysical Union, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, NASA's GISS, etc, etc.

I do all this and still I get cons talking about liberal conspiracies. They tell me all these scientific organizations either hate capitalism or are just going after the global warming money. Apparently, there's a liberal behind every organization and only right-wing pundits "tell it like it is."

It was reported yesterday that Tony Blair was interviewed a 3rd time by the Police relating to cash for honours scandal. Now that he has left office, is it not now time for the Police to actually prosecute him for corruption or for him to be prosecuted in the Hague as a war criminal for taking 'us' to war without the specific sanction of the United Nations for doing so ???

if they are for balance then why not put it on all media outlets instead of just one section...shouldn't it be for talk radio, newspapers, cable news, network news, web blogs, etc...i know many liberals hate the fact talk radio can't survive in the market place...but they are just flat out wanting to discriminate...but claim to be for fairness...

Bush tried to use this same yearly report in 2003 to try and say his approach was winning the war on terror?

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The U.S. government restated its 2003 accounting of terrorist attacks Tuesday, reporting a sharp increase in the number of significant attacks and more than doubling its initial count of those killed.

Democratic Rep. Henry Waxman of California has suggested the numbers were being "manipulated" to serve the Bush administration's political interests.

The State Department eventually conceded that the original report failed to include a number of deadly attacks in the latter part of 2003, including a car bomb that exploded in a housing compound in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and a series of attacks in Istanbul, Turkey, all of which took place in November.

right-wing religious fundamentalists / social conservatives?

This liberal totally sees terrorists for the RIGHT-WING scum they are so please cons, stop believing all the lies your right-wing pundits tell you.

Terrorists / fundies / conservatives believe:
- in traditional backward values
- in religion in the government
- in prayer in the school
- in being tough on crime (chopping of hands and heads)
- in guns and god (no pacifists here)
- in traditional roles for women, keeping them out of power
- in forcing women to dress conservatively
- in killing in the name of God under certain circumstances
- that there is too much sin in today's world
- that western liberalism (with our tolerance, mtv, rock, and sex on tv) are to blame for this social decay
- that we should turn back time to an idealized past that never existed, "the good old days"
- that sin should be criminalized
- that theirs is the one "true religion"
- and that the others is the religion of satan

Why would any republican senators vote for this bill? After weeks of debate, nothing promising changed in the bill from a conservative stand-point (amnesty). Does anyone know where I can get addresses for the following republican senators who voted for cloture? They are as follows:

Bennett (R-UT), Yea
Craig (R-ID), Yea
Graham (R-SC), Yea
Gregg (R-NH), Yea
Hagel (R-NE), Yea
Kyl (R-AZ), Yea
Lott (R-MS), Yea
Lugar (R-IN), Yea
Martinez (R-FL), Yea
McCain (R-AZ), Yea
Snowe (R-ME), Yea
Specter (R-PA), Yea

I really don't care how the dems voted because it won't change how I feel about their party. Unfortinately, for me, I live in California so writing my senators (Boxer and Feinstein-ultralibs) is not going to do much. I'm pretty sure almost every amendment proposed by the GOP was voted down. If this is not the case, let me know. Thank you.

Cheney doesn't believe his office belongs to the Executive branch of government, the White House doesn't comply with Congressional subpoena on wire taps, and we've dealt with human rights abuses, an erroneous war, and a huge list of other crimes that have crushed this nation internally. Why should we expect that the illegitimate President George W. Bush will respect the will of the people when we vote for a new President? If I were to look at the list of actions this corrupt administration has taken it wouldn't surprise me if they just decided to urinate on the American people and just take-over indefinitely.

As I see it, companies are hiring illegal immigrants, rather than citizens, because they can pay them less than the minimum wage, not provide health care, etc. In short, it's cheaper, and it's off the books.

If we shut down companies that do this, wouldn't at least half the problem go away? And if we don't shut those companies down, aren't we just allowing the poorest of our citizens the opportunity to lose their jobs because there is a cheaper labor source? It seems to me that going after the hiring companies, rather than the individuals, would be one effective way to proceed.

Well-reasoned, non-hateful comments on both sides would be appreciated.

A number answer would be nice... not an answer like "a lot" or "to much"

This case involves a person with a back injury. The industrial accident board awarded the client 12,000 dollars. but the insurance co. doesn't want to pay. To take this guys case to superoir court it would cost me. The fee of an expert wittness doctor 3,000 dollars plus court fees. the law only allows me to get 25 percent. which would only be 3,000 dollars. If we win in court award . We probly won't get any more than 12,000 dollars. now the insurance co. offered me a law office free of charge for a year if I lose all the evidence. tell my client that the case was dropped for insufficent evidence by the judge. What should I do.
