Mine has always been, "Ask not what your country can do for you -- ask what you can do for your country, My fellow citizens of the world: ask not what America will do for you, but what together we can do for the freedom of man."

and it did get me to do something I had considered insane, and to this day I do not understand how I survived.

SO my friends, are you asking what your country is doing for you? I hope not.

Really desperate here....
on 6/15 around 7-8pm I accidently ran a red light at the intersection of Brea Blvd and State College Blvd in city of Brea.
I know for sure there is a camera and a sign says words like "red light violators will be fined $271.00". I don't recall a flash went off, and if I remembered correctly, the light had probably just turned to red when I passed maybe 1/4 of the intersection.
Can anyone please tell me if I've been photographed or not? Is it possible for them to photograph w/out the flash? If I've been photographed, I have to know right? since it's probably hard for me not to notice the flash? I was not stopped by a police. Please tell me how would I know if I'll be receiving a ticket (besides wait for the ticket), if I was really photographed, how long will it take for the ticket to come? Thanks......really desperate here!!!

A minor around age 14, was approached by California law enforcement for questioning (as a suspect). He was read the miranda. The Teen requested that his mom be present. Officers refused. He was told if he didn't answer without a parent, he would be arrested and placed in juvenile hall through the weekend. We questioned one officer about what we witnessed. He told us that they didn't have to allow a parent to be present, only a lawyer if the child requested it. We insisted that it wasn't right and was asked to produce the code/law stating otherwise and they would change their tactics.
Note: This is not my child and I am only researching this for clarification as I've been told both yes and no. We are friends with the officer & boy, trying to solve this reoccuring misunderstanding in our area. Local lawyers say a parent should be present if the child request it. Officers say that they only have to tell the parent that child is being arrested and tell the child his rights under miranda.

Why are they against us having a choice in educating our children, forcing us to send our children to a government monopoly?

Why are they refusing to allow me to choose a funded private retirement account funded by a portion of my Social Security taxes?

Why are they refusing to allow me to have a health savings account, buying high-deductible health insurance that becomes eligible for tax-preferred savings accounts from which I will pay for my routine medical expenses?

Based on their hatred of these choices it seems they are only for choice for them but not Americans. I want less government in my life, give me that freedom.

The Chennai (India) conclave of the newly formed third front decided to field Dr. Abdul Kalam as the next Presidential candidate. A good innocent proposal indeed! But did you see the trap behind? Dr. Abdul Kalam will reject it outright. This proposal will please all Indians. Since UPA has no option, but to reject it, its image will take some beating. The second target is the D M K patriarch Mu. Karunanidhi. Every second word he utters has some Tamil tint in it. Look! Here the third front made a specific request to the DMK chief to support a Tamilian as Dr. Kalam is, to the Presidential post. Mu. Karunanidhi is now put in a tight and embarrassing corner, as he has no way out but reject it. It can hurt his Tamil tinted image. Ultimately on rejection by Dr. Kalam the third front will support Shekhawat, the BJP supported independent candidate raising the excuse that they have no other option left out. There is also a possibility of their not participating in the voting process.

quote:(ap wire) Barack Obama said his campaign made a "dumb mistake" ... criticizing rival Hillary's financial ties to India.
1.) What specifically does "unneccessarily caustic" mean? when your revealing to the american public that the clinton's invested in india and recieved 300k in graft from a company involved in outsourcing.
2.)Why does he have to be "more careful" about communicating? whats wrong with the electorates right to know?

quote 2.
what we can do is make sure we have a government that's looking out for our workers," Obama said. "We can do more to create a government that's creating quality jobs here in America,

WHEN DID GOVERNMENT EVER CREATE ANY NON CIVIL SERVICE JOBS? ITS NOT THE THEIR ROLE TO EMPLOY BUSINESS DOES THAT!
3.) When does the govt. look out for workers? Considering the clintons largest tax increase in us history, shouldnt workers beware of that?

Restaurant linked to E. coli shut down
SHARIF DURHAMS AND ADAM BELL

SALISBURY --Health officials closed a China Grove restaurant linked to a deadly E. coli outbreak today after learning some employees slaughtered a goat there last month.

At a news conference this afternoon, Rowan County Health Director Leonard Wood said that on Friday, a former employee of Captain's Galley Seafood Restaurant on Main Street in China Grove told health officials a goat had been slaughtered there.

Wood said the restaurant's owners confirmed the report of the goat slaughter over the weekend. He ordered the restaurant closed today.

News of the slaughter was "very disturbing" to him and the restaurant's owners, Wood said.

"They don't know if or when the restaurant will reopen," he said.
