You have the Legislative Branch, and their job is to write laws (when they're not bashing the President or hiding money in their freezer).

There is the Judicial Branch, their job is to interpret the laws, usually as applied to a specific set of facts (when they aren't telling the legislature what laws to write).

and the Executive, whose job is to perform the tasks assigned to the government under the laws; collect taxes, run jails, bus school kids, and not prosecute legislators with a freezer full of money.

Legislative- Makes laws, has final say on court appoitments, and must be consulted on all moajor decisions. Composed of Senate, and House of Reps.

Executive- In charge of Army, appoints supreme court justices, has ability to veto bills. Composed of President and his cabinet,

executive orders enforcing the law, act as head of
the federal bureocracy and all federal agencies,
nominate judges, and appoint government officials
legislative - Congress
they pass laws, declare war, regulate trade &
money, impeach federal officials, & override
presidential votes
judicial - Supreme Court and all of the lower federal courts
as created by Congress
they interpret the law, excercise the power of
judicial review, & the Chiefe Justice presides over
trials of presidential impeachment
