Yes I fully agree with you. This is what we call cooking one’s meals on other's gas stove. This is what these politicians & upto. Just see the unique combination of these guys in this so called progressive third front. Ms.J.Jayalalithaa Queen of corruption, Mr. Mulayam Singh Yadav King of corruption, Mr.Om Parkash Chutala Emperor of Corruption, & need not comment on Mr. Chandra Babu Naidu lesser is said about him is better it will be, he consider himself as De facto Prime Minister of India. Now all these planning for Dr. Abdul Kalam's nomination, who had made his mind very clear long back that’s he is out of this race, I still remember about a year back on a T.V. program when he was meeting school children he was patently asked if he seek a second term as a President, he refused it point blank, saying he'll be to happy to be back as a teacher the profession he originally belong to.Dr. Kalam is not at all political person & he is not happy being crowded by all these politicians. As far these few clowns in the so called third front are concerned they have no work to do till next election so they are trying their hands in this political gimmick. Whether they vote for Mr. B.S. Shekhawat or abstain from voting in either case the prospect of Mrs. Pratibha Patil for presendentship will not matter much. If you check your previous question where you had asked about having a woman president this time I had emphatically supported this proposal, & even mentioned if I had to vote my vote will go for a woman candidate irrespective of her political alliance. Although I am not in favor of Congress or UPA collation but Mrs. Pratibha Patil happens to be only woman candidate in the fray I give my support for her. After all we are going to create history in the Indian politics we should be proud of it.

Those who are proposing Kalam are playing to the popular sentiments of Indian people, specially the so called 'elites'. I also admire Kalam, but does that necessarily mean that I should support him for the presidency.
I am sure that Mrs. Pratibha Patil will fit in the role as should suit the president. This post should remain away from unnecessary glamour. The president and the incumbent Government should work in close cooperation, and the president should function as is laid down in the constitution.
The president should not play to the galleries. She should be above criticism and glamour.
Pratibha Patil for me, is just what the country needs today.

My Choice: Pratibha Patil
1)Greatest opportunity to get a lady President to head the largest Democracy in the world.
2)Also, Government and political parties can move forward to pass a bill giving 33% representation for women in parliament and in assemblies in India.
3) Electoral college is clearly in favour of the UPA candidate and Pratibha patel is sure to win.
4) UPA nominated Pratibha Patel after much deliberations among the partners of UPA and no going back at this stage .
5) UPA is confident of getting its nominee elected as the President and its strategy is more open and clear.
6) There is no hidden agenda unlike that of BJP or the third front.
7) BJP(Shri,Vajpayee) ruled out support to to Dr.Kalam in the beginning and did not nominate shekhawat .
Now,Sushma Swaraj comes out telling only two options for BJP. Either to accept Dr.Kalam or support Shekhawat.
8) Third front originally said it supports Shekhawat and somersaults to support Dr.Kalam to Embarrass "Dr.Kalaignar the Great". He will manage all situations and come out with a statement acceptable to all sections of society.

DR ABJ KALAM is not only a wise President but an HONEST Person who dosent give in to political biasness, he is a fatherly figure. Maybe Sonia Gandhi"s future plans could have a tendency of Dr Kalam opposing it applying his presidency power that SoNIA chose President Patil. THE JOKE IS , An ITALAIAN decided who to be the INDIAN PRESIDENT hehehe tats India As what subramania samy earlier said, even she could be behind the death of her own husband

As Kalam has opted out due to mud being thrown on him by Congress, NCP & Left there are only two contenders for the post.
Number game is in favor of Pratibha but it will be a low in Indian Democracy..
We have not grown but shows that we have gone down.
After 60 years we will have most corrupt person as FIRST CITIZEN..
Hurray to Indian Democracy...
It is a great day to open our eyas & Not Vote for Congress, Left, NCP & DMK to save country..
We can still the country & prove that we have matured over 60- years else we may go as most corrupt nation whose FIRST CITIZEN is not clean..

all that matters is Sonia's choice. Obviously, her choice is Mrs patil.
Kalam was instrumental in rejecting Sonia as PM during the last eelction. Now it is Sonia's turn to reject Kalam.
Shekhavat and Sonia will never go well as they are oppositions.
So, te obvious choice is Mrs Patil, who will never stand a away of Sonia during the enxt elections while electing PM. This is sheer poltical maneuvre and Sonia is a great checker.

What is use of asking the choice of common man for the post of President Of India. Is a common man part of the electoral group which votes for the election of president of the nation? No, then why to ask the choice of others? Is it also a politically motivated move? I think everybody knows, if the chance to elect president of the nation is given to the common man, who the choice of majority from amongst the given choices will be.
