I've heard of the reverse brain drain, which is basically that people are leaving america and going back to their home countries. This is especially true in India.

But to what extent is this happening? How many Indians go back to india each year? And is the number of indians coming to america declining?

I just think he is an idiot, I can't even understand how he won the last election, It makes me think that part of america is just uneducated and wants to keep the wool over their own eyes.
Why else would you vote for a guy who can't even run a business (or 5 different ones) without it collapsing... but us americans voted him in twice...?

It seems like whenever I check CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN or listen to a politician they are constantly spouting poll results that completely disagree with the opinions of people I know and meet.

Why is that? Do you think those people have poll questions designed in a way to get a specific result?

I found this poll today, had never seen it mentioned anywhere by the media or politicians, but it is diametricly opposed to what CBS quoted today. I researched the polling organization and they come out sqeaky clean, in fact their polls were the most accurate in the 2004 elections, and by the way contradictory to the polls we saw on TV during that time.

This poll says 57% of Americans agreed with these statements, statements: “I support finishing the job in Iraq, that is, keeping the troops there until the Iraqi government can maintain control and provide security” and “the Iraqi war is a key part of the global war on terrorism.”

Why would the media and congress use polls to deceive us?

This is an article I found (while searching online for DWI intervention and prevention) about an NYPD off duty cop drinking and driving and causing a head on collision with another car leaving the other driver in critical condition. Now to me it seems as though our justice system is full of crap b/c they seem to have just slapped this cop on the hand and let him fly off with barely anything to reflect on. What are your thoughts on this kind of case? Why is it that either if you're a cop, in the military or if your work title has something to do with authority you get off easy on crimes you've committed whereas if a regular citizen out there committed the exact same crime he/she would've had to wreap what they'd sewed, afterall this is a serious criminal offense isn't it especially b/c someone else is in the hospital fighting for his life.

It seems that in a democracy you have to advertise and sell yourself to get into a position of power, so the people who get in are always people who like to talk rather than to listen, not people of wisdom. I can see them running good businesses, but not good for the countries.

Surely there is a way to choose people who are good leaders because of there ability to lead, not because of their ability to do something unrelated.

My favourite political system is the star trek one where people are tested in school for what they would be good at and then trained for it, and given a job in it, so leaders are always people with a natural ability and training - not just someone who wants the job.

I find it a bit distressing that Mexicans can come across our borders illegally and in mass with no negative consequesnces, yet the recently found Haitians will have to be questioned to determine if they can stay here.

Doesn't this sound like blatant discrimation?

Also, why is the U.S. government even listening to the Mexican government with regard to our border agents doing their jobs? They SHOULD NOT be prosecuted and jailed for performing their jobs.
