I said that a long time ago. I figured that when a Cuban crosses the water they get citizenship or some type of legal status. But let a Haitian do the same thing they either sent back or questioned and jailed for illegal activities. They are running from turmoil and problems that their country faces too so why discriminate? It's a question that we should ask our congressional officers. Oh and about the Mexicans, not to sound racist but, we know that plenty of them come across the border and never register or do the things necessary to become legal let alone learn the English language to communicate their issues. The Haitian people I know regardless if they just got here or been here for a while learn some English, at least enough to communicate with the people around them that don't speak creole. So a question of discrimination on the Haitian people is serious and i think the answer is yes.

Well if poverty, just wanting a better life and a life threatning journey is excuse enough for the southern border crossers.....then yes.....they are being discriminated against. It is unfair that law breakers who come from any other port of entry gets caught while they ignore the southern border with 1000's crossing a day never questioned or anything. Just also proves illegals aren't shot at and mistreated when they are caught. Also proves it's not just Mexicans being targeted for deportation. Simply treated and deported. They don't randomly shoot for no real reason. I too want to know why there's a blind eye to the southern border......they are no more deserving than any other nation.

Any one who comes into this country illegally should be deported. The only reason Haitians are being sent back more then Mexicans or Cubans because they come over in very large masses which makes it harder to catch them. So the very few we do mangae to catch, they get sent straight back to. The only reason there are more Mexicans and Cubans because they come in masses and those numbers add up fast.

I kind of like the "no, tough, no" response - thanks I needed that.
1st question- seems the Coast Guard is doing its job well.
2nd- Doesn't sound like discrimination on the surface, simply, again, the Coast Guard is doing a great job.
3rd- We shouldn't be listening to the government of a country that can't even handle its own affairs, nor any other nation for that matter on issues of sovereignty.

How can you say that Mexicans can come across our borders illegally with no negative consquences??? Just those that are NOT caught face no consequences (until they are later caught). I am so sick of the average "american" griping about how illegal aliens (Mexicans only...) are getting a free ride. Jesus Christ people, quit believing EVERYTHING you hear!

no and no. they were caught, had they not been caught they too would be illegals, the US works with mexico on border and drug issues, but i doubt we listen to everthing the mexican govt says. on a related note a border agent was caught (on cruiser cam) stealing weed, while fellow agents were chasing the criminals

You are correct..
The US govt. behavior in response to illegal immigration
along our southern border is absolutely disgraceful..
Bush needs to be impeached for his total disregard and
failure to control the Mexican border..
