well it's not should, but if it is handled properly, the officer would be fired and decertified. Good luck ever getting recertified!

This is one of those kind of "scandal" things that you only read about in the news, in most cases, it is an issue that should be brought to the police dept, city council, etc. And dealt with by investigation or inquiry, though there is no knowing that if the incident is reported, anything would even be done, depending on the circumstances. In any case, I don't think there is a law saying it's illegal, but it is wrong by moral standards, yes. And for MOST departments and law enforcement divisions (in the state of south carolina especially) a law enforcement officer can lose his/her license and job if they are involved in any acts or incidents involving crimes or acts of "moral turpitude"

Fired! This kind of behavior shouldn't be allowed to pass when someone is on the job... especially a job as important as a police officer's!

I think that government owned vehicles should not be used for personal use, and the officer should be reprimanded accordingly. The fact that it was used for sex...or that the other participant happens to be married has no extra bearing on the case. Thats just small minded ignorance.

If he uses the vehicle to go to the women's house, no one can do anything about it. However, if he had sexual intercourse in the vehicle, he can be charge for dereliction of duty and misuse of local or state property, and he can get reprimanded or fired.
