Actually it was dropped down to driving while impaired, but let me give you the details... I have applied for several banking jobs over the passed few weeks, and today one of them asked in a phone pre-interview, "have you ever been convicted of a felony, misdemeanor, driving under the influence, things of that nature?" What? I've always answered "no" to the felony/mis question, but I've never been asked specifically about a DUI, and I didn't think it fell in the same category. Can and will banks really check for this? I really hope my one night of poor judgement hasn't cost me my future in banking! (btw, I answered "no" to this question on the phone today)

Friend was asking me because I know a little about cars but supposedly the officers performed a light bulb test on his car to test whether or not the headlights were on before the accident. The only way I can think of doing it is to actually touch the filament of the bulb to see if it was warm (indicating it was on) or off but that doesn't seem very scientific or as a solid proof they were on or off.

Does anyone know how such tests are performed on the vehicle? Explain in detail if you could. Thanks!

What is so threatening about gays in the military? Is it that the guys won't bond as well as a fighting unit if there might be a gay in the bunch? Being in California near San Francisco - I've worked with gays for years professionally. If you don't bother them they don't bother you. Never been grabbed or propositioned once! And some of these guys are some smart. So why at a time when recruiting is so difficult would the army see the need to exclude people from its ranks?

Has anybody seen footage of George Dub as governor of Texas especially when debating? He sounded very well educated and sure of himself. He rarely stuttered or ever fumbled words. Now look at him during a press conference, speech, or any other public address and he seems nervous, uneducated, and unsure of himself. And I'm talking about before all the polls showing his disapproval. I refuse to believe just moving to a larger stage in politics turns a mostly well spoken politician into a ball of nerves. Just looking for some thoughts and opinions.

we have about 4 sets of friends, who have less kids than us, they have lived together longer than we have, and have about the same income as we do. they always get at least 2,000 dollars more than us back in taxes just because they havent gotten married. Its like people today get punnished for getting married. Do you think this prevents people from getting married today?

hi, we are running software company in india, and once we served our UK based client with our website services, we took 40% money advance on paypal, and worked for them around 40 days.. they appriciated our progress and works. but suddenly they reflected, due to delays in work, we accpect that there were delays but due to nature of work.
finally, they raised dispute in paypal, but after getting our reply on dispute they closed that dispute.
now just few days back, they contacted some advocates in our country and their advocates are calling us to resolve this.

i would like to know, can they file legal cases against us, as they are not from india.
and should i fight with them legally and waste my time.., as its matter of $600, so i m nt able to decide., i requested them partial refund.. but they say they require full, or they will proceed legally.. , in either cases i am getting suffred. company image as well, Any suggestion will help.. Thanks all respected lawyers for answers.

Way back at the start of the US. What do you think would happen if we tried that today. If the Dem won, the Rep would be VP. Would it help to force the sides to work together?? would it just be a mess?? Would there be a lot more assassinations?? What are your thoughts?

One party controlling Congress and the Presidency, and having nobody to answer to, or one party controlling Congress and the other controlling the Presidency and getting nothing done? I think the second would be better if our country could learn to work together for a change. Although I know Obama lacks experience and has a very slim chance of winning the Presidency because of that, I do admire his stance on ending partisanship. I wish whoever was elected would pledge to try to do the same. As frustrated as I was before January, I am just as frustrated now with the gridlock and lack of doing anything.

We buy a lot of Venezuelan oil. Yet, Hugo, instead of being thankful for that, has been travelling around following Bush's path, giving money away (that came from oil profits) and calling us evil.

Do we need any more evidence to stop use of foreign oil?
