Great point.
And I will add:
The choice to wed to care for the child
Take the Plan B pill (which needs to be done in 24 hours)
Go through the pregnancy and give the child up for adoption

And to date no one has taken away your right to abortion should those methods fail. At least in some states. Happy traveling if they do.
Thing is, they do want to remove your ability to get certain forms of birth control too. At heart what they really want is abstinence. I suppose after marriage too, in other words, ones I have found right here on Yahoo, "every act of intercourse should include the possibility of a new life since that is Gods plan".
If that doesn't float your personal boat, then you might want to reconsider the notion that your choices are their choices, and their choices are fine by you. Or any one elses choice should be made for you in such an area of personal behavior.

I agree. It's about time people started taking responsiblility for their actions or inactions.
We have numerous ways to prevent an unwanted pregnancy.
On top of all the different birth controls we have, and just simply closing our legs......we also have the morning after pill.
Why do women have to wait until they are far along in their pregnancy to decide whether or not they want it? The morning after you do the deed, you know whether or not you used protection....
I don't understand the reasonings behind abortion, unless it's life of the mother, rape or incest. That's it in my opinion.
My god, we have more "respect" for animals and friggin trees than we do for human life.
And we wonder why there won't be enough social security money going around when our generations get to retirement age........Duh!
But it's YOUR CHOICE.

Oi. The world is not as black and white as you make it seem. You have the choice to be on (not 100% effective) birth control. You have the choice to use (not 100% effective) condoms. You have the choice to (100% effective) abstain. You also have the choice to deal with a situation that could occur in your future do to the failure of one of the above methods of birth control... or because of a rape or an incestual encounter or blah, blah blah.

Wolf said nobody can tell you how to handle your pregnancy.
What about the rights of the father? If a woman were to have an abortion the father has no say in that, she would have one. If the father didn't want the child he can't force her to get an abortion, so if she didn't he would be forced to pay child support how is that fair?
What about his choices. We would hear from the mother and other groups that he should kept it in his pants, or used a condom ect. Why can't we say the same thing to women who use abortion as a form of birth control?

Pro-lifers just want to take away the choice of women to end the lives of their unborn children. The semantic games the pro-choicers use to mask the reality of abortion are breathtaking, aren't they? They get all upset about someone limiting their "right" to deny the right to life (which is THE PRIMARY right we all have) of their own offspring.
As an aside, if women have the right to "choose," should the abortion of female children be outlawed until they are old enough to "choose" for themselves?
Regarding rape victims - A woman gets raped, so let's punish the unborn child. That's justice for ya!

This is the only current conservative view I can respect .
Abortion is wrong was wrong and always will be wrong . Killing life is wrong .
So conservatives who are pro life but support the death penalty are religious nut cases and not realistic people who rely on facts . This is also why they deny global warming and try to call it a democratic or liberal agenda or conspiracy .
This along with gun control are the only area's I agree with modern conservatives on .

The pro-life movement is the very definition of anti-choice.
It's saying the life of the unborn is more important than the right of the individual to control what happens inside their own body. And every pro-life advocate I know wants to pass laws that take away the right to choose from the individual.
That is, by definition, taking away choice.
Just because some other options may be available, doesn't mean that you aren't still denying the choice to control what happens inside an individual's body.
Trying to argue that forbidding an individaul from making a choice is not really taking away a choice is just nonsensical.

Exactly Sway! There are ways to prevent pregnancy--most are VERY effective (especially that abstaining part!)
Wolf states it's no one's business what she does with her body at any time..........but if she would "make her body a business" it IS the laws business isn't it?
I can't make my fists (part of my body) into a weapon to choke another person..........(or kill them)--that is ALSO the laws business.
How does abortion differ from the above? (With the exception that said person in above reference could probably fight back).

If only more people would understand that self gratification, and guiltless pleasure was not everything. When I walk with my daughter to the store, someone somewhere is blaming someone else for the sex they had that they now have to abort.
