I have noticed many conservatives here continue to believe that America is behind Bush and his war, despite all electoral evidence to the contrary. But do you ever stop to think what actually happened in November? How do you explain it?

I received 2 e-mails from 2 different people who I know about that if you're robbed at a bank machine. Basicly it said, if you enter your PIN backwards, the machine reconizes it and the police get dispatched. The robber will still get the money but the police will be on their way. Is this true?

How much difference does having a paid Attorney represent you in a criminal case versus a court appointed lawyer? Is it because a public defender has such a big caseload that he/she can't focus on one particular case too much? Is it true that public defenders are pretty much inexperienced and get paid a set amount per case no matter what the outcome is? If two people are charged with the same crime, is it possible that the one who shelled out ten grand for an attorney may walk while the one (who didn't have rich parents)may do time in prison?

ok-- here's the situation--- Recently, I had a friend who moved to BA and says it quite beautiful there, though he is living there illegally. As for me, I am working in Honolulu, and have lived for the past three years in NYC, where I recieved a degree.

My ethnic background is half french and chinese, and I am an American citizen, and I am willing to live in BA with a student visa, and my employer is still thinking about placing me, on a telecommute position. I do not want to break any federal laws, a course, but I do not want to go back to school, and my spanish is pretty good, and I would like to contribute to the BA economy, if I decide to live there, which means I would have to file taxes as an American citizen, and also to the BA government and its foreign policy system.

Now, if my telecommute position goes through, what would be the reprecussions if I prolong my stay, in BA by more than the 90 days as a tourist? In BA, its been said, it is rather liberal with Immigrant

The Department of Justice has confirmed plans to add DNA of
people under arrest to the FBI’s national crime database in an
effort to track illegal aliens. The database will be used
specifically to link illegal aliens to future infractions.
Under the current system, DNA is only taken from criminals who
have committed felonies or misdemeanors.

What do you think about this ?
Good or bad ? And Why ?

What I'm meaning is, in a few answers I stated what I thought of Democrats, and I was "reported" for insulting other participants.

Would it be acceptable if I reported everything that is written negatively about Republicans?

I think it would be, but that would be lowering myself to their level, and I don't want to be hypocrite like so many are these days.

And I am talking about a major attack in the form of several weapons of a biological or nuclear nature unleashed in several majorly populated cities. The death toll could conceivably reach into the tens of millions, and consequently would seriously disrupt the social and economic activity whithin the country.

Do you think: 1) This is even possible from a logistical standpoint? Are there weapons which exist that are readily accessible for use by 'ordinary' individuals? How would such weapons be delivered to unleash the maximum amount of devastation?
2) Is this action neccessary? I mean this from a geo-political and philosophical standpoint? Is it neccessary for the world to proceed through the difficult times ahead without the arguably negative influence the U.S. exerts globally from a cultural, economic, social, and political standpoint?

I'm primarily concerned with the abotion issue. If there are any organizations strictly or specifically focused on this issue (and maybe the death penalty) could someone please let me know.

I'm also looking for a group that is not radical in their undertakings and acts reasonable and responsible. I know some groups take protests too far. Any resouces would be helpful.

The case is the latest in a series of investigations in which immigrants illegally in this country were found to be working at U.S. military facilities in California, New Mexico and several other states. Bill Reid, special agent in charge of the Washington field office for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, said the agency is trying to prevent it from happening again, especially at bases and other critical facilities such as nuclear plants.
Court documents said the immigrants worked for a company owned by Richard Eversole, 58, who was charged yesterday in U.S. District Court in Alexandria. Eversole, a U.S. citizen, obtained Department of Defense vehicle stickers from Quantico, which allowed the men to enter the base with limited inspection at the front gate, the documents said.

Also charged with conspiracy to harbor illegal aliens was Juan Martinez, 24, who was also here illegally and deported from the United States in 2004. A third man, Jacob Bocanegra, 36, was charged with unlawful reentry into the United States and remains a fugitive.
