Let's make it simple: don't trust the word of a politician. Many people including liberals, democrats AND conservative, republicans (or any other affliation you wish to reference) believe that there is a very big difference between the life of a living breathing child and that of an unborn fetus or zygote even. Nobody cries each month when a woman undergoes menstruation and a potential life is lost. Why would they? It is only a single cell. Humans constantly are loosing and rebuilding billions of cells every day. What does a few matter? Even if they do have the potential to create new and unique life, it is no crime that it does not happen. Simply put, some people believe life doesn't really occur until birth (which is why we don't start counting age until then). Nowadays the argument against contraceptives focuses on it may encourage (or at least allow) more sexual activity between non-married individuals. It used to be that they were frowned upon because they prevented pregnancy which was considered the same as murder (though to a far lesser degree of course). If preventing life before conception is alright but after birth is not, where is the line exactly? there is a 9-month grey area. Surely, the death of one single impregnated egg is not big deal. Who is honestly going to get upset over ONE cell? Many people believe there is no significance to such a thing. Furthermore, many believe the rights of an individual should not be infringed upon for something that wasn't even alive. It is a powerful belief in the rights of the individual that may cause someone to be in favor of abortion. Really, there is just no simple answer to this.

The Nazis claimed to be for Germany but ended up destroying the nation in the end. Evil people are always about covering their own *** 1st and 2ed and 3ed and so on.
Anyone that has or preforms an abortion or even gives a Friend a ride to the clinic is a murder.
War is for a purpose and not made against individuals but states.
Capital Punishment is given to people that have killed other people and thus forfeited their right to life it can not be compared to abortion. The Catholic church takes this position but like on so many other things they are plainly wrong.

It's called the Woman's Right to Choose. The Democrats and some Republicans believe that the woman has a right to decide on what she does with her body. If a woman wants to use birth control she can if she wants to have a abortion then she can.

I personally hope that all women would use birth control. But i understand that some women are raped and abused they get pregnant and decide to have an abortion. I am a Democrat and I am against abortion, I believe that it is a violent act, but I am for the woman's right to choose what is done to her body. I believe that only a backwards thinking person would be against that.

Oh by the way I have never trusted a politician of any party but I vote because I love this country. Do you?

Republicans appose the Higher minimum wage, Bush will veto that legislation that helps Children. Actions speak far louder then words.
Abortion is a non issue. All Dem's are not liberals. I do not support abortion, i am for the death penalty and I don't think a $9 trillion debt is good for America. That makes me a conservative.
BTW, Republican Doctors made lots of money from Abortions, the morning after pill will be sold and Republicans invest in that pill stocks. Turn off Fox and Rush and get your facts straight.

The belief is that pre-term abortions are better for the unborn child than an unwanted pregnancy is for the resultant (possibly neglected or battered) child is for the birthed kid to parents that are unwilling or unable to care.

Remember, the state taking away the right to abort is completely seperate from the individual's choice to abort.

Probably because cells aren't children. And the lib-dems support freedom of choice.
Why is it that the Repubs are puppets for the corporations and banks that are really running the country? And why is it that most of them didn't serve in the military but they are so quick to send the middle, lower class, and minorities to their war over oil? Bush and his corporate family are war profiteers.

they say its the women choice and that abortion leaves fewer unwanted children in the u.s. but there are plenty of couples that
wait years for a baby.i guess im not that diplomatic.i was 16
when i got prego with my oldest.i went to planned parenthood.which obviously it wasnt.but they asked me 4 times
if i wanted a abortion.the last time i told them if they asked again
i would report them to who ever would make them sound bad
that finally stopped them.and i say if you play you pay.im sure
im gonna get flack.but i did live it.i was alone, had no where to go
so i have walked a mile in most girls shoes that get a abortion.so
i think i get to say what i want.sorry didnt mean to preach.

I don't understand how anyone could be prochoice. I'm very thankful that the birth mother of my daughter didn't abort her.
