I'd heard on a radio program that some members of our government, particularly the National Education Assoc., believe that children do not belong to their parents; they belong to the government, while the parents are merely "stewards" of them growing up.
I've tried to find some of this in print, but have not had any luck.
If someone else has heard about this, too, I'd like some info from them.

President Dwight D. Eisenhower in his April 16, 1953 address to the nation: "Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired, signifies in the final sense a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed."

Compare that to what we have heard in the recent past.
