WHO THE HELL KNOWS, I WASTED A YEAR OF MY LIFE GETTING SHOT AT, AND FOR WHAT. WE WILL NEVER GET CHEAP OIL, AND WE LIVE IN A COUNTRY WHERE PEOPLE STARVE IN THE STREETS WHILE WE SPEND MONEY ON A WAR WITH NO END AND NO BENEFIT.

Stability would be better. Victory implies being a stronghold on Iraq's liberty. Don't you think that if we eventually stabilize the country and help them to establish a democracy or something like it they would still need our services? Iran is still a major threat to democracy. Just last week the Iranian leader said that the destruction of the US, Great Britian, and Israel is essential for the survival of Islam.
Face it people... The US will NEVER completely leave Iraq. Evetually, if not already in place, we will have a permanent military base there.
And the time will come when Iran will attack and we will be called upon to defend them.
I don't know exactly how you fight or reason with Islamic extremists?? They don't seem to want to co-exist under any circumstances. Are these really the teachings of Muhammed and the Quran? If they really believe their belief is the only way where do they think all of the other 80% of the worlds people come from.
Does any rational person actually think that Allah or god or a higher power or whatever you believe in ...really wants you to exterminate the ones who don't believe as you do? I can't wrap my mind around that one!!

Well... Technially we lost if all we did was go to get WMD's.
BUT we did free the Iraqis from, uh...what's his face, Saddam Hussain. Right now we are pulling security for the most part. This worries me cause I'm going into the Marines at the end of the school year.

Sir, we live in a world that has wars and those wars need to be fought by men with guns. Who's going to do it? You? The military personnel have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for terrorist and insurgents and curse the military; you have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what they know: that military deaths, while tragic, probably saved lives and that their existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves lives.
You don't want the truth because deep down in places you don't talk about, you want them in that war, you need them in that war. They use words like honor, code, loyalty. They use them as the backbone of a life trying to defend something. You use them as a punch-line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom they provide and then questions the manner in which they provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you," and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest that you pick up a weapon and stand a post. Either way, I don't give a damn what you think!

Victory in Iraq (if you listen to more than just news sound bites) as described by President Bush is a free and democratic Iraq able to govern itself, participate among the community of nations, and chart its own future for the benefit of all its people, regardless of religion, race, ethnic, or gender.

When you say, ...war over, we won
Do you mean to suggest, the war ended when the "Mission Accomplished" banner was displayed?

Victory for jr. means, historical vindication of himself; his visions, his decisions, his methods.

By his actions, we know he believes that "the end justifies the means".

Victory would be when a democratic stable government is elected which can supply unlimited amounts of cheap oil to our country.
