I firmly believe that oil is the only reason why my country exists today and why it has a signifance in the global market. It's all because of the 10% of proven oil reserves in Kuwait. If there was no oil, no one would be living in the desert we call Kuwait. What do you guys think?

I've recently finished reading a book called A.W.O.L. You can find it on amazon.com if you want more information.

In it, it poses an interesting question. First let me explain a bit.

In the 50s, the majority of Ivy League college graudates joined the military, last year less than 1% joined from those same schools. The author reasons this was due to the Vietnam protestor generation teaching their children to hate the military. Also, the general opinion of service to country is that someone else can/should do it, rather than their sons or daughters.

Do you agree with either reason? What other reasons do you have? I'm not looking for anti-Iraq blabber, illegal this, lies that. I want real reasons why you feel it's not your responsibility to give something back to your country.

ICE conducted 6 immigration raids on meat packing plants around the country and arrested over 1000 illegal aliens that had stolen the identities of US Citizens.

Do you think it was a good thing or a bad thing and why?

Even if the U.S. exits Iraq within another three years, total direct and indirect costs to U.S. taxpayers will likely by more than $400 billion, and one estimate puts the total economic impact at up to $2 trillion.

What could that money achieve if it was spent on green/electric vehicles, flex-fuel, regenerative technologies, hydrogen, etc? We need oil for ONE THING. Vehicles.

Lets be honest. The real reason the Islamic nations hate the U.S. is because of the unscrupulous ways we manipulate their govts and position our corporate energy interests. Without oil, the Middle East is just useless desert. Their only power is oil. Take that away, and what happens? Everything falls apart... Al Queda, the terrorist camps, the oppressive regimes, it all vanishes like a fart in the breeze.

It's only because of U.S. oil's corporate greed that the middle east is even on our radar screens. The public simply has to demand that we get off our oil addiction, and all our Islamic problems will go away.

I have a friend who always threathens to use the leagal system to get back at you if you do something wrong. He says that one thing he ahs learned in this country in the 8 years that he is here is to not speak but to "sue " people for money and then they understand things. It presents a difficult situation .
He wants to sue me over a minor issue and I told him he will not win. He says he wants to do it anyways. I have tried to speak to him but he is not listening . He says he has the time and the money to go to court and will get more money if he wins.
WOW, I am just blown away with his attitude. If you hurt him he is so bitter. WHY?????

I drank for about 25 years and am pretty good at spotting the symptoms of alcohol abuse. Bush seems to be showing many of the physical signs of an alcoholic. Red face, over "puffy" eyes, etc. He speach patterns are randomly interrupted with an inability to focus on a thought long enough to complete a sentence and repeating the same phrase during a conversation.

I think he's laid down his coke spoon for some JD. What's your opinion?

what happens when you demand a trial by jury but the judge gave you the max penaltys already. she pleads not guilty to something she admitted doing. she is charged with false report of a offense disorderly conduct. if she pleads guilty now she will get max penaltys right? so does she think the jury will lower the sentence? or do you think they will increase it?

I am reposting this because for some reason people think i'm out to stick it to the store and that I am some lazy dumb *** looking for a handout. this is not true I am a full time nurse and also a full time student. This was a warmer that I burned my hand on while removing a pre-packageg chicken. I was not expecting the warmer to be that hot. This thing is located in the front of the store and is open for all to acess even children. I was not even thinking about sueing until I realized the scar that this was leaving. I am not trying to be rude and I appricieate all answers even the rude ones.
there is no sign that says caution and there is no way that thing should have been that hot! I was going to let it go but now I have this ugly scar on my hand that everyone keeps asking me about. I wonder should I write a letter to the manager or get a lawyer, I took pictures. What should I do. Do I even have a cae.
