I am reposting this because for some reason people think i'm out to stick it to the store and that I am some lazy dumb *** looking for a handout. this is not true I am a full time nurse and also a full time student. This was a warmer that I burned my hand on while removing a pre-packageg chicken. I was not expecting the warmer to be that hot. This thing is located in the front of the store and is open for all to acess even children. I was not even thinking about sueing until I realized the scar that this was leaving. I am not trying to be rude and I appricieate all answers even the rude ones.
there is no sign that says caution and there is no way that thing should have been that hot! I was going to let it go but now I have this ugly scar on my hand that everyone keeps asking me about. I wonder should I write a letter to the manager or get a lawyer, I took pictures. What should I do. Do I even have a cae.

Personal injury lawyers typically offer free initial consultations.

Contact one or more of them in your area for their professional advice.

I answered this one before too but if you are a nurse you must have common sense. A place where they keep hot food must be hot right ? How hot are we talking here -- was it an oven or a place where lights are keeping the chicken warm/hot/whatever.
I would tell management so nobody hurts them selves. Now I would sue if the store had the intent to do harm. Like I said it's up to you.

No you are not dumb.
Probably you should take more care when you handle dangerous things: hot, eletric, hazardous materials, etc.
But do not sue, do not give lawyers your money cause that's the only thing they want, lawyers do not want your hapiness, nor your well being the want YOUR MONEY!
Lawyers are a cancer in nowadays society.
I could write you here dozens and dozens of cases I personally know about them taking advantage of people even knowing that their "customers" will not win.
Maybe if you go after your case you win.
But the case is be happy that despite of your scar you are alive and you can be happy without courts and lawyers, always!
God is the Judge, companies bankrupt, people die, but the ones who believe in God and in God's Law will never perish.
I hope I gave you some light, if not, do good help others to be aware of the problem you had, forgive and pray, does not matter what religion you are, all religions are good for us and our souls.
Do good for your family and friends, and always smile.
Life is too short to worry about little people and sharks!
God Bless You.
Warm regards,
Me.

Unfortunately, you probably do have a case.

If the idiot could sue McDonalds for being burned by hot coffee, then you can sue for being burned by a warmer.

Hopefully, the lawyers will eat up your settlement.

As a nurse, you should know that Vitamin E oil heals burns and leaves no scars.

contact the manager and tell him/her to post a caution sign. you probably do not have a case because you have no expenses to sue for or no real damages besides the scar.

Sorry, I have to agree with the sentiments of others. You weren't born yesterday. If you're concerned about children, speak to the manager. Any other action sens a message of your desire to stick it to the store out of your own pettiness.

If your intention is to protect children from the same injury, call the local health dept...or OSHA...they will go to the store and deal with the situation. Sorry...I think America has become too lawsuit happy, and it needs to stop.
