The death penalty should not be abolished in Texas or any other state for that matter. In most cases, those convicted of murder were not "considerate" of their victims, often terrorizing and demeaning them before killing them. If they are truly repentant for their crimes that can be dealt with by the Creator, however, their actions while living forfeited their right to live.

Texas kills more people every year then most states. And the main problem is that many are being exonerated with DNA evidence. I am not against the death penalty all together (at least not if someone does something to someone I love) but at the very least they should require DNA tests whenever there is evidence to test BEFORE they do something permenant like lethal injection that can't be reversed.

There are just some people who can't be rehabilitated, and are a danger even locked up. There's no reason they should be allowed to stay alive.

Once a person is executed they can't be paroled to kill again. Ever. There's some comfort in knowing that.
Parole has no value.
