If the true cost of our "way of life" were to be calculated ( health [ all forms, physical and psychological] and environmental, would we as Americans still dedice to contribute to our own demise. I am painfully aware of our addicition and complacency in the matter, however this does not justify the ongoing destruction of life all around us via petroleum based issues (a.k.a pollution and war) So, the question is posed, can we sustain our "way of life" without petroleum? And if we could, how would that in turn shape the world around us and our role in it?
P.S. Take some time to really think about how we use petroleum. Truthfully it will take some time to wean ourselves from its hold on our society!
