You better ask the court that. It could vary from city to city.

While you wait to be called to a specific court room from the general pool of jurors? It depends upon your courthouse jury waiting area. In my town we have internet and electrical outlets available in the Superior Court jury waiting area. You may have to remove your laptop from your bag when you enter if your courthouse's security requests. But, I don't think that there are any general prohibitions against bringing your laptop. Check your court's webpage for juror information.

I was at jury duty recently - There were a few people that brought laptops and were not allowed to use them, even while waiting for the selection process. You also could not use cell phones in the waiting room.

Bring a good book!

Call the jury clerk. It is highly unlikely that you would be allowed to use it even during the "voir dire" (jury panel questioning) process or while waiting to be called. If you're selected for the jury, there's no way you'd be able to use it. Plus, many courtrooms do not allow any electronic devices without court permission.

I would doubt it ;one there are limitations to cell phones; the attorneys can protest it b/c they may feel that it may jeopardize their client if you are researching, taking notes etc or may be tempted to research the law, case etc. ; they don't know what you are doing with your computer ; they want a fresh untainted juror ; also in the age of attacks in court etc, I doubt it b/c electronics can be used for other purposes; if you were on my jury , I would ask for you to be dismissed. When it comes to money, convictions and trials, any indication no matter how slight is a risk to the parties involved; Juror 4 you are dismissed.

I don't think that they would allow that but check with your state first. I know that where are not to allow to have our phone on or seen in a court room nor jury room. The judge in my state might have a heart attack about a computer.

You can bring it, but if you use it then it WILL be confiscated. Also, judges do NOT return them.....(and they don't have to!).
