I am married to a former police officer and if there was something done derogatorily to any member of his family he wouldn't hesitate to report it. Family is always first, police officer, politician no matter who you are or who you work for. But you also have to be ready for the repercussions it could cause.

I doubt the accident report was biased. I'm willing to bet the officer just has a difference of opinion about what happened. In any case what is there to fight? Just deal with the insurance companies involved because they make there own determination about fault.

I wouldn't sit still if i were you. i would fight. as a chp cadet in tranning i would fight the report and not let my mother take the fall if she wasn't at falt. here is some tips. one get a copy of the report. two look at the other party that was inolved and see what what that officer put in the report. three did your mother see the other party coming at her and if she did then is not to blame for the crash. also look to see if the other party was drunk and if so then they are to blame for it and not your mother.
