I live in an apartment where the walls are pretty thin. I had a neighbor before with a screaming baby and I could barely hear anything. My roomate is partially deaf and plays his tv in his room loud but if I shut my door I barely hear it.

However, my neighbor now, all he has to do is *turn on* his tv and his subwoofer drives me nuts! He plays it all night, all day long. Even with ear plugs it is still possible to hear it because it's low frequency noise. It sounds like one of those cars that will drive next to you on the street with a "thumping" soundsystem. It's "boom, boom, boom" all night long and I can't sleep. My apartment manager says the neighbor is "keeping it down" and the walls are thin so there isn't anything he can do. I've tried to explain it to the neighbor twice, but he blows me off. Right now he won't even answer the door when I knock.

I was thinking on calling the police, but will they really do anything? It's not the volume, but the bass...

“But when a long Train of Abuses and Usurpations, pursing invariably the same Object, evinces a Design to reduce then under absolute Despotism, it is their Right, it is their Duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future Security.”- Declaration of Independence – Sorry, I had to steal it.

I feel that means: When you find something wrong with North Dakota being the least violent state per ca-pita that doesn't help the rest of US. It is your duty to not be a couch potato your whole life and get some passion in your life and do your best to get rid of them to the French Canadians and drive the Bloody British out of The Monarchy of Pennsylvania once and for all! Thereby obtaining a star for Pennsylvania and no sewing will be required.

I got the ticket, but I couldn't show up at the court. Then I report to them to reschedule another hearing. But I didn't get any updated letters. After that, I moved several times. I don't know what will happen. I am really scared.

Will they put me into jail?
Will I need to pay a lot of money?
What if i can't afford to pay all the fine? I'm a student.
How can I fix everything?

Please help me, i'm really scared.

After all, since it's true that the Democrats and Republicans are both evil (i.e., they both support taxes, welfare, war, authoritarianism, high regulation, they're both against social freedom), if you vote for the "better" or "lesser evil" of the two evil major party candidates, and your candidate wins, don't you still end up with an evil politician? Isn't THAT really the wasted vote? Wouldn't it be better to vote for a third party candidate like a Libertarian who's politically and morally acceptable, even if s/he has no chance of winning, just as a matter of principle, and to make a statement? It seems to me that if Americans keep voting for bad people, that guarantees we'll never get closer to electing good people.

Can anyone who follows this war, the problems in the Middle East, and the already declared intention of ruin to free countries by Iran, honestly say this is a surprise? We are dealing with an entire world area that hates our way of life and everything we stand for. To express sudden outrage of Iran's deceptiveness seems a little ridiculous. Did we trust them before we found this out? No. Did we always know they were capable of this and probably already doing it? Yes. The trading/selling of weapons and training of terrorists going on between those countries in the Middle East that hate us never ceases. Outraged I can understand, but I've been outraged for years now at the duplicity of the countries in the Middle East. These exchanges between principals in that cauldron happen every day. This sort of stuff is so obvious we could have been asking yesterday what should be done about it. Thoughts?

I checked the ID and either didnt notice it was fake, or did a math error on the date...I never found out. Anyway, I did not INTEND to sell a controlled substance to a minor. If you are a lawyer, or you know for sure, please tell me if this is a crime of moral turpitude.

I mean, obviously the Democrats and Republicans are never going to change. They both voted for the war, they both think they own us and can tax us in every way, they both violate our freedoms. So why do Americans still gullibly re-elect these people?

It takes about 6 months to train U.S. soldiers and marines - 2 months basic training - 2 months advanced infantry tactics, and another 2 - 6 months to become proficient with their weapons and equipment. Many of those serving in Iraq have much less time in service than the time the U.S. has spent on training Iraqi citizens. And according to the news reports, it's going to be another 12 - 18 months before the Iraqi army and police force have sufficient training, - I just don't buy that !!
