I and lots of others have had questions/answers deleted due to non-sensical abuse reports.

Do you think that maybe by penalizing reports by taking away 2 to 3 points for each report will stop this abuse and stop people from pushing forward their own agendas.

I put this in immigration because that is where I feel the main problem is.

I think he does, regardless of his health. There are a lot of people who feign illness to avoid prison. This guy killed 10 people and was convicted of doing so. How can you get probation when you kill 10 people and injure many others? He may be a small burden on the taxpayers in prison but what kind of prescedent are we setting?

"LOS ANGELES (AP) -- An elderly man who killed 10 people and injured more than 70 others when he drove through an outdoor farmers market was sentenced Monday to probation by a judge who said he believed the crime deserved imprisonment but the defendant was too ill.
George Russell Weller, 89, was convicted Oct. 20 of 10 counts of vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence in a case that ignited debate over the licensing of elderly drivers. Weller, confined to a sickbed, was not present.

hi

i'm from Europe and would love to come to the States and stay there. I'm a student of English but I intend to get my master's degree in translation. I checked the Department of State's website and it says you can apply for a job only if you're an American citizen. How long does it take to get a citizenship and how long do you have to have that citizenship (how many years prior) before you can get a job like this (working for the US government or something)

thanx

Would you give up your guns? Would you sue in court? Would you hold protest rallies? Would you shoot those trying to take your guns? Would you wage war on the politicians trying to disarm you? Or would you do something else?

Rangers are fine soldiers and so are the rest of the guys, absolutely. When the USA has won the war, however, they lose the peace. When I pick up a M16 I am damn sure I will shoot in my foot and I prefer that much above shooting civilains. Do you have the b...s to go in a conflict area without arms, to get scolded by the refugees ? Do you care enough to stay, when the rangers have gone ? A red cross is a poor substitute for a bullet proof vest. Am I less courageous than combatants ? Am I a coward and a liberal, while I have been on more battlefields than any ranger ? (soldiers of course, not officers )

First, let me say that I smoked for ten years and quit five years ago.

Sure, I can usually walk wide to stay out of the path of sidewalk smokers, but there are those who light-up as I walk by (even while I'm carrying my 11-month-old daughter).

With the correlation between cigarette smoke and various health ailments, I wonder if I could take justifiable action that would be considered self-defense.

Not really wanting to slap the nicotine addict, I was thinking of something without violence - like flicking the cigarette out of his/her mouth, or spraying water on the lit cigarette.

You can claim that smoking is a choice which we each have the freedom to make, but this freedom is infringing on the health of ourselves and the health of our children. I am looking for some measure of self-defense against the continued pollution to my body.

So, what can I/we legally do to thwart the invasion of the air we breathe with these known carcinogens?

Can you explain to me what happens when you open the door and a police officer is standing there with a search warrant? Is it just like on TV? Do they just hand it to you, walk in, and begin tearing your place apart, or are you allowed to read the entire warrant before you let them in?

I'm just curious to know, because what if they're not real police officers and the paper is a fraud (like in Training Day, when Denzel used a chinese take-out menu to make a woman believe he had official papers that allowed him to search her place).

I was hit by a car that was delivering news papers (in IL) She was at fault. Her insurance claims she was an independant contractor there fore they are not liable. I have heard that the US court handed down a decision that prevents insurance companys from hiding behind the "independant contractor " thing. Does anyone have info or website on this or advice as to what to tell her insurance company?
Thanks for any info.
