I and lots of others have had questions/answers deleted due to non-sensical abuse reports.

Do you think that maybe by penalizing reports by taking away 2 to 3 points for each report will stop this abuse and stop people from pushing forward their own agendas.

I put this in immigration because that is where I feel the main problem is.

I am wondering if this question will be reported for abuse by some of the fanatics on here, LOL.

If you don't echo some peoples views they click on the report button.I say take away 20 points is only one person reports the answer or question.Maybe that would stop some of them. And I do know that the reporting goes on on both sides.Lets all grow up please I get so tired of my questions and answers being deleted for no reason except the vindictiveness of another.

I would say it is... especially if the reported post is for over a month old!!! I have one that was from 3 friggin Months AGO!! I mean honestly you would think Yahoo would say to themselves that there's something fishy going on for such an old Resolved posts right?? Personally I wish Yahoo would keep tabs on who is doing the reporting, and I don't just mean the account that is doing it, I am talking about the IP too. And if the same person(s) keeps up then deal with them. Take points away or if they keep doing repeated reporting then take their dang account away or something. It's getting ridiculous around here.
I do like your idea though about taking points away for reporting someone. But most people on here really don't care about the points. Maybe take them down a level after so many reports......

I think that's a good idea. This place is getting out of hand with all the reporting going on, and it's not as fun as it used to be here. From this day on I'm not reporting anyone for any reason, and I hope everyone else will consider doing the same.

It is abused! The Idiots forget that this is the big wide world. They live in little protective bubbles, and do not want to see what the planet has to say. when they do see things they don't like, the dummies and rattles come flying out of the pram! Forget penalizing them, boot em out if they do it too much.

Yes it is being abused. I like your idea but how about this one. If you report someone for a reason that turns out to be bullsh*t, you lose 10 points. Like when someone gives a simple answer stating their opinion and you report it as chatting & personal communications.

Yes it is! No matter what you say on here nowadays, you get reported ... I mean, I answered a simple "Yes" to one question, and got that one reported, and deleted, for "Chatting" ... what's up with that? Yahoo doesn't seem to have any idea what's going on .... and if they do, they sure don't seem to want to do much about it ....

Yes, you'd think that if someone doesn't like your questions (or answer) they'd just leave it alone. But NO, they have to insult you then report you. I think it should cost you points to report, just like when you ask a question. Although I don't think people care much.

Yes it is, some people pursue their agendas with a straight and narrow viewpoint.
They cannot see the truth if it stares them in the face.

That I know of, I've only been reported once. And even that was an honest mistake. I am no sweetheart on Y/A, so from personal experience I would say no.

EDIT 4 Thumbs down for relating a personal experience. That's hilarious.
