Hope that they do it fairly. That all eligible will serve. That money or name won't get someone an easy spot. Being gay won't stop anyone from serving. That women will be included. If you "vanish" or refuse to go, you pay the price.

Greg R--- Are any of your relatives in the military. Remember, the same people protecting your right to express you views are prepared to die for it.

Or are you just a taker, give me everything I'm supposed to have, without giving anything for it.

Nothing. I'm too old to be drafted, and I already did 6 years in the military (honorably discharged in 1990).

I would take a combat arms m.o.s. <-(a.k.a miltary job) and go to fight and defeat the enemy. I served as 92 A (Automated Supply Specialist) in the US ARMY, did my time and out. I wont re-enlist but if I was called upon I will take a fighting job this time. Our service member numbers are low to me and we need to build our forces. Here is something I wrote:

We need 500,000 to 1 million troops in Iraq. Stability will be in order, USA has 1 million+ active duty & 1 million+ reserve. We need to draft a million or 2Million to train and switch out with the already enlisted, comissioned active and reserved troops. Give the millions of in-country captured illegal immigrants and ones caught crossing our borders an ultimatum to join the military or stay detained and sent back home. We need to build our man power and militarize the border. I see a military statehood of America soon and its not a bad thought. Build our force and allied strength to go into regions of world threatening regimes and do like we did in Nazi Germany. We are looking at 40-50 years of conflict in these extremists states.

Conclusion -
500,000 US and allied forces plus
India and Pakistan helping to stabilize Afghanistan.
500,000-1,000,000 Allied and US forces needed in Iraq. After stabilizing Iraq 2 million to stabilize Iran.
Allied force including China of 3 million or more to N. Korea.
Super Allied force 3-4 million with African Union to Battle extremists there.

As a veteran of the Marine Corps I would not be drafted. However, if they called and said they needed me to go back I would in a heartbeat.

Burn my draft notice and demonstrate, just like they did in the 60's when there was another stupid war. If all the repubs and conservs who support W and his illegal occupation of Iraq enlisted, there would be no need for the draft. So all they have done is provide lip service and hot air. If you aren't prepared to spill your own blood, then you don't support his 'war'. Look at this way, no relatives of Bush, Cheney or Rumsfeld are in Iraq - why not?

I would QUICKLY get myself into the Ranger regiment as I don't want the average 18 year old in the US nowadays covering my 6!

No way in hell!

Well...Personally I'm already in the military so it wouldn't mean that much for me. Except of course that I would have to deal with whiny draftees that obviously have no business in the military if they didn't have the balls to enlist before hand.

I hope and pray they do not have a draft. I have a grandson who in 2 years will be 18. God forbid. It will be a shame if they do and I don't think the American public will stand for it.
