Following the death of MIlton Friedman and the eulogising elsewhere on this site, do you ever wonder what economists do for us? It's been shown time and time again that they cannot accurately predict in any detail, only suggest future trends. They cannot control all the variables like weather, people's opinions etc. Look how Britain rejected Monetarism. If Friedman expected that to happen, why did he or his priest/followers not tell us? The one certainty that economists fear and ignore is that all systems develop entropy eventually. We see that in the Western world despite Thatcher and her use of our North Sea oil money to try to discredit Keynes, the rich over generations get poorer and the poor get richer. Eventually economies will reach total entropy and money will no longer be used as reward and punishment. Economists are like King Canute....Ahh, they say he was only responding to advisers too!

I am not talking about if we can win but can the American people digest a war with a country next to us, There will be a new President in Mexico Vey soon and let's hope he does not decide to also send his army to the nortern border to protect their people, Americans don't forget that Mexico also has a big army and untill now they have being US allies. Besides I bet there will be many countries helping Mexico to get stablished right next to USA.

I know you people like to guess the motive behind these questions, i'm going to tell you straight up it is hypothetical (im not even a film-maker,dont know a thing about it) so can all the do-gooders please keep their theories to themselves and those with brains read on;

Suppose a person making their own film decided to make one which included what looked like animal cruelty.
It might cause controversy. If someone thought it was real and reported it (somewhere?) could the film..person be investigated?

How would someone be able to prove that it was just clever camera work or something like that?
Suppose you used what appeared to be a metal pole to beat a dog. A prop.
This film could be around for years, long after the prop is gone, so how would you prove it in that case without the prop?

Or I even ask what are the legal issues, if any, if you used parts of a clip showing actual cruelity. This is not concerning copyright- would you have to prove you didn't make the beating?

I ordered a computer via a major e-commerce and shopping channel retailer by accident.(I hit a speed buy button instead of the return to list button). I immediately canceled my order and the accounts page verified that My order was canceled. I was never charged for the item, but around 2 weeks later my wife get a package via Fedex. I open it and it is a computer.

I called the retailer about it and they seemed not to know what I was talking about. Now approx 30 days after receiving the computer the retailer calls and said either I return the computer or get billed for it. They said if I return it they will pay for shipping, but I will have to package it and they recommended I get insurance for it because I would be liable for any damage that occurs during shipping or may have already occured. I do not have the original packaging any more, but they indicated they would not be responsible for providing that to me. If I keep it what am I liable for?

My husband joined the Army a few years ago. He had been injured for about 15 months and is now healing. It looks like we will not face the medical discharge we were so sure would happen. He only has a few more months before he will be "returned to active duty" and his window for re-enlistment is open. Should we re-enlist for the security or should we start all over in the civilan world again? They are offering 20K bonus payment or our base of choice....go civilian and we don't get anything except for what we have saved. Any opinions would be helpful for us to make this decision as a family. Thanks!

When the real problem is terrorist cells within the U.S.A. The focus and action should be towards these people who will kill for 7 virgins later. Another place to focus on is on poverty in the U.S.A. I get lots of mail wanting donation to help feed the hungry AMERICANS. THIS IS A SHAME.
