Ok this is a loaded question. lol

In short, think about this no matter what party you are affiliated with: would Bush Jr have ever even been able to be governor of Texas without Daddy Bush being president?

The answer is no way in .....

Rove, having controlled most Republican campaigns since the 70s, played the Republican party brilliantly.

Foreign diplomacy is a key to being a successful President.That's one of the reasons History is going to judge Bush to be the WORST ENEMY this country ever had.
Also the Republican Party was taken over by religous zealots.Bush was seen as an Evangelical Christian.He also looked like a goodole'boy not the super rich puppet of whoever has his/her/it's hand up his ***.
Not to mention the average American citizen was continuously bombarded with Fear and Paranoia.Whenever something would make Bush look worse he would come out with B.S. that doesn't really matter like gay marriage or steroids in baseball(bad;but not a matter of national security)maybe announce our Mission to Mars.The s@#t goes on and on....the man counted on us to be sheep;damned if he wasn't happy in 2004...

Those are not actually requirements, unfortunately. I can't stand him, but he WAS the governor of Texas, which means he was a politician already. Oh, yeah, and his old man was the president for a while, too. He was a legacy.

The better choice? No competition in the elections? Conservative Supreme Court? Brother runs the swing state? The better of two lousy choices?

Oh, hell, who knows. Maybe 2008 will give us some real candidates to choose from.
