I'm not trying to be sarcastic, I was just wondering how far can I go.

If you can sue tobacco companies, can I sue for example U. S. soldiers for bringing ragweed to Europe causing a huge wave of allergy? Or can I sue God (or His legal representatives) for making me born to a particular country, which would be discrimination?

The Prime Minister is now allowing people to send petitions via his website, but a spokeman says 'party political' issues like pulling troops out of Iraq will not be allowed. It's not a party issue when all three parties largely agree he got it wrong, and what's the point in pretending to be more accessible when you won't brook any discussion of one of the most important issues of the day?

Surely it's in everyone's interest to have a referendum whether you are a Europhile or Eurohater.
Do you think your country's future is worth a few minutes of your time>

Long story but here's the quick version. We were renting and still in contract, without any warnings the owners would just come in with their own keys to show people around (before we were even given leaving notice) the real estate agents weren't too bothered when we told them. We decided to give notice because we didn't want to put up with it anymore. We moved out on Monday and they were supposed to do the inspection and give us our deposits back. They were so horrible about it and we were there from 9am-7pm waiting for someone to sort it out for us. They guessed how much we would pay in bills (double than we had previously paid) and there was a broken hinge and they charged £85 for it and accused us of being liers for not reporting it. Can I take them to small claims or something? Is there a govornment body I can report them to?

How do you think the new Congress, controlled by Democrats, will perform?

i didn't describe the situation correctly, so im asking again.

1. My friend's (lets say he's rick) mother got sued for unpaid bills.
2. However, Rick's parents are not home currently, because they went to visit their relatives and take care of businesses for a few months. They won't be back until after the court date.
3. Can Rick represent his parents and pay the fees instead?
4. If not, the only solution to me seems like his parents' return and being present at the court. But if they fail to be present, they will get arrested?
if so, will they go straight to jail when they arrive at the airport?
5. I've heard leaving minor alone is illegal. If he calls the court and tells them his situation about parents' unavailabilty, won't that make his parents guilty?
Is there anyone he could report to for help?
6. Do you think negotiating with the landlord to drop the charges, by paying them the check right away---can be done?

I think the court date is real soon.what should he do

A Poll,My story: Live in CA. Got .08 DUI,1 glass of wine. Pulled out from parking spot 20 ft to the street, turned right-drove about 15 ft, did a 3 point turn, backed up 20 feet. When I got out there were police officers standing there. I didn't get a field sobriety test, I was so scared and shaking, I asked for a minute to calm down and breath-he slapped the cuffs on me and arrested me right then. Evidentually another car had peeled out and they thought it was me. My 11 yr was with me also. Went to court, I was sentenced to 10 days jail or work release, AA meetings , Parent class & 1st offenders DUI classes w/ $2,222.00 fine. I had to go back to court and a different Pub.Def.& Judge said my sentence was 'excesive', they dropped the meetings, he couldn't overrule the other Judge. If you've had a DUI,may I compare yours w/ mine? I think I got reamed.

What are the details on the age of consent in Massachusetts. I always see 16/18 listed. Does this mean 16 for females, 18 for males, 16 for having sex with someone close in age, and 18 for older people, or 16 with parental consent and 18 without it. I have heard each and am having trouble finding a straight answer.
