Foreign lawyers or Canadians with a foreign law degree who wish to become members of a Canadian Law Society must apply to the National Committee of Accreditation for an evaluation of their legal credentials and experience. Note that the criteria for lawyers wanting to practice in Quebec are quite different from those criteria in the rest of Canada. Note that the Application Fee is $535 CDN. The NCA bases its recommendation on the applicant's legal background, both academic and professional. It takes into account

the source country of legal education (common law, civil law or combination)
subject matter studied
academic marks and standing
nature of the degree granting institution
professional qualifications
length and nature of professional legal experience
Upon completion of its review, the NCA issues a recommendation that the applicant:

1. pass examinations in specified areas of Canadian law;
2. take further education at a Canadian law school with a specified program of studies; or
3. complete a Canadian LLB program.

You should check the Immigration Canada website and maybe also the website for the Canadian Law Society. Just type those into your web browser and the sites will come up. Good luck.
