It seems at times that leniency is given to those who are under the influence of drugs or alcohol and commit crimes. It seems unfair to me, but I would like to know what the rest of you think. I have a friend whose cousin, 21, was just sentenced to a prison term of 42 years for stealing cars. Some murderers get less time than that...

Will collecting food stamps affect my federal refund at the end of the year?

Hello. My husband recently got laid off of work. We have been collecting food stamps for the last couple of months now. Will this affect us any when we file for our federal refund at the beginning of next year? Thank you.

Why is the word, "scary" often used to describe powerful women like Clinton or Pelosi?

I find myself saying that, too. Why are we scared of powerful women, but not scared of powerful men? For instance, I never called Bush scary even though I consider him a megalomaniac. What is wrong with our thinking?

husband grad basic.?

OKay my husband is graduating basic training in the army in Dec. My mother inlaw has offered set to set up a hotel with double bed with a double bed witch is fine however my husbands and I first night I was wanting out own room. Should I say something or just go along with the plan. I talked to my husband and and he was like thats fine. Our plane leaves the next morning early. ANd we can join the mile high club, or find a family restroom in the airport. I know him and my slef and it will be hard with all the time to lay in the same bed, Without and activity. Any sugeestions?

Conservatives who despise Hilary or Nancy more than other Democrats ... Why?

If you just despise *all* liberals or *all* Democrats, please don't respond. It's boring and doesn't address what I'm asking. (Any body remember that this is a "questions" forum.)

Specifically, I'm trying to understand why Hilary Clinton and Nancy Pelosi seem to inspire even more viceral *hatred* than any other Democrat (like Reid, Obama, Biden, Ford, or even Dean, Kerry, or Gore). You would never vote for any of them anyway, but why do these two bother you more than any other Democrat.

If it's not just because they're women, is there something specific that they have done or said?

How to find your spouse's hidden assets in a divorce?

If you are getting divorced and you find that all of your joint assets have suddenly disappeared, is there a way to find them. I am guessing he has moved them to Switzerland or Canada. Any ideas? The assets were stocks and bank accounts.
