Democrats are people who like to help all people, especially the working class and poor. Republicans like to cater to big business and extremely wealthy people and drop programs to help the needy.

Democrats and Republicans have different approaches to how the citizens are best served. Generally speaking

Democrats have a political platform that relies on government providing solutions to ensure the rights of the people.

Republicans have a platforms that focuses around limiting government intrusion on the people so their rights are not trampled on by government.

It's like two proposed answers to a similar solution.

In all reality, very few actually dislike each other, my sister is a democrat, my best friend a green party member and I don't dislike them. I just feel their political philosophies don't work in the long run. I personally believe that government has no place in my life and should be limited as the Constitution demands it to be limited too. Government has no place in my house, my family, and if privately employed... my place of employment. That's just me, a Republican.

Actually, my mother was a die hard republican and I liked her. I have lots of friends that are republican and democrat and I give dinner parties and invite both. Really, the bottom line is that someone elses political views are not my reason in life to insult anyone or to alienate them. Do we have fun and debate and argue? YES. But at the end of the day we all shake hands and know that it takes all beliefs to keep this country on its toes.

I think they do like each other, but each has ideas of how a government should work. Both are right and wrong and when it comes time to vote the people who want the offices will unfortunately do just about anything to get it.
It's a LOT of Power to have and power results in money.
I happen to not like the Republican agenda. They always say small government is good government, but when they are in, government always expands:(

They are all just like you & me. Their purpose is to do what the people that put them in office want them to do. In real life they do like each other. But in the world of politics they don't get along so well. ~;}

Know much about Chinese folklore, the Yin and Yang?

Democrats are like the Yin. Full of darkness, ignorance. Pressing ignorant views on others. Removing freedom from innocent taxpayers.
Republicans are like the Yang. People of the light. Basically, they clean up the **** the Democrats started when they were last in office.

What are they? Politicians
Purpose? To win elections
Why don't they like each other? I'd say 99% of them do like each other.
