Did Rumsfield quit or was he asked to take one for the team?

The easiest way to answer this is to ask yourself,
"Would Donald Rumsfeld be gone if the Republicans had pulled an upset and retained control of both houses?"
I think not.

In all honesty, I think he was getting tired. That's just my opinion based on my observations. The only way I would know for sure is to ask Rumsfeld myself. Since that isn't going to happen...I am assessing it was a combination of complications and ridicule that drove him to resign.

I think he wanted out. He's over 70 & doesn't need the grief.

anyone who thinks he left on his own is kidding them selves ...he was FIRED, and rightly so.
