Why is it that...?

Why is it that when someone kills others with a gun, the immeadiant thought is to "Ban all guns today!". But when someone gets drunk and kills a family of 5 in a Mini-van(which occurs much more frequently), no one even dares considering banning cars.

Did anyone notice the party line button?

When I voted today (Bexar County, TX), I noticed a party line button on the electronic voting machine. Was that an option to automatically fill in all the candidates of a given party without looking at them?!?

How could a person vote for Mr. Negron who is taking Mr. Foley's place on the ballot in Florida?

Are people insane? If you voted for Foley last election and have seen how he betrayed not only your vote, but the moral values you voted for him to protect, how in the world could you possibly vote for another republican just because he is republican? Talk about partisan. This man does not even have his name on the ballot. In order to vote for him you have to cast your vote under Foley's name. Tell me again how values matter to you!

Don't you think a woman's vote should count for MORE in some cases, like when having to do with womens issues?

Like Miss USA and America contests, the placement of strip-clubs and adult book stores, and make-up and womens clothing prices, and let the men be left to take care of the important stuff like world-issues and laws?

Any interesting voting stories, I have one,,,,,,,?

On my way into the voting area I actually got asked by this girl, "Are you voting Republican or Democrat". She seemed nice, so I told her that I was voting for some of each. She then proceeded to lecture me about the why I should vote for her party and her party alone. So I pulled out the notes I had taken about each candidate and asked her why I should vote for each one. All she could respond was,” Because they are the right party". She didn’t even know all the names of the people she was voting for. I thought this was amusing, anyone have an experience they would like to share?

remember when the dems complained about the hanging?

chads, and the dangling chads, and how bad it was to have to use paper ballots in some places. and now they are the same pinheads complaining about the "rigged" machines, the voter intimidation, etc, etc, etc. it's just amazing to me.
