The first and foremost would have to be MOTIVATION. If you are not motivated for the Army - don't go! If you want to find out if you are motivated just list the top three jobs you would like to do in the Army. The first being the one you want the most. Then ask yourself, if I didn't get that job (lets say Air Force Pilot), and they put me in a Tank unit, how would you feel? Would you stay? If not, then you are not motivated. If you want to be a Pilot and if not a File Clerk then you are not Army material. Simple.

A soldier is someone who is technically, tacticaly and physically capable of completing his mission, which he first above all other considerations, even his own life.

Consider the sixth stanza of the Ranger Creed.

"Readily will I display the intestinal fortitude required to fight on to the Ranger objective and complete the mission, though I be the lone survivor."
