Soldiers, seamen, and airmen go to war because they joined the military to serve, protect, and defend their country and it's interests at home and abroad. It is a sense of pride and duty...even if you don't agree with why we're at war, we do what we have to do and what we're told by the governent. If there weren't people who had the guts to go, this country wouldn't be the free country it is today. I went because I felt I owed it to our ancestors that fought before me so that I could keep this country as free as it was when I was born for those in my family that come later in my life. For those who believe in peace, there is no such thing. I'm sorry to burst your bubble but, as long as there are 2 people in this world, there will be 2 different opinions on issues and there will be war.

Sense of duty. American soldiers feel bound by duty and the desire to protect the freedom of their people. Don't believe the media hype about Iraq either. Talk with someone who has been there and seen the change in the clime, and seen how greatful the citizens are.

depending on where your talking about Canada goes to help provide food and make peace but though many canadians die becuz of supid butts all i knoe is canada

On the Western side, soldiers told to by people who have money and power, who don't go themselves. The guerrillas from the middle east feel they're fighting an evil empire and they want to prove that they can win.
