chads, and the dangling chads, and how bad it was to have to use paper ballots in some places. and now they are the same pinheads complaining about the "rigged" machines, the voter intimidation, etc, etc, etc. it's just amazing to me.

i wonder why it is that we (the entire world) rely on computers to run our businesses, cars, taxes, governments, militarys, schools,...you get the picture. but voting can't be entrusted to it. hummm.....and i'm sure there hasn't ever been a case of election fraud or error using paper ballots.

The problems with the 2000 election had little if anything to do with hanging chads, and much more to do with G.W.s cousin at FOX, all the major networks who fell neatly in line, Kathryn Harris as the partisan vote counter, G.W. calling for Gore to concede before the results were in, the Supreme Court stopping the recount "for the good of the American people", the Senate...etc. As I recall it was the reps who used arguments about chads as a delaying tactic while the Supreme Court figured out a way to steal the election for G.W. Machines? Forgive me if I have little confidence in machines that leave no paper trail, allow for no oversight or auditing (kind of like G.W. himself), and are made by a company which is run by a man who says he'll use any means necessary to swing the elections for the Republicans. We Americans love our technology, but sometimes it only serves to make a confusing situation more confusing. We also love to do things our own way, but I'm thinking we might take a look at the many other countries with simpler, more reliable, more trusted, more consistent voting procedures.

You use a paper ballot that you mark with a pen or ink with a stamper. The entire chad problem is avoided

I just came from voting and they has a paper ballot that you filled in with a pen.

That was a switch from last years electronic voting machine.

I think it's best to do it the old fashioned way, paper and pen. If you can't handel that, then please don't vote!

Some things just can't be improved on, voting on a paper ballot is one of those things. Everything in life can't be electronic and digital !
