What I find interesting is that everyone in the US sits around and argues about the war in Iraq when first off, we as civilians dont know all of the facts, and second I think it is just plain disrespectful to our brave soldiers who went to Iraq to fight and protect our country. Do me a favor, if you are a soldier that has made it home safely from Iraq, please tell us what you think about the war. We know what everyone else in America thinks yet do we ever hear from the soldiers? No, probably because they respect our great nation instead of complaining about it all the time. But I do think they could put an interesting perspective on it for everyone. I bet they know what we are fighting for.

Ok, I was driving 96 on a 70 mile-per-hour free way. My ticket says that I can't take a defensive driving class b/c I was going more than 25 miles above the speed limit. But it's my first offense, so do I still have chance to take defensive driving class? What should I do? and also, will my insurance go up too? Thanks!

I agree that it is not a proper role of government to dictate who can
marry whom. That said, is there not a contradiction in allowing gay
marriage but prohibiting polygamous marriage?

For example, if the government does not have the authority to dictate that a marriage can be composed of only one man and one woman, how can it have the authority to dictate that a marriage can be composed of two-- and only two-- people? As long as all involved are consenting adults, why should anyone care who, and how many, they marry? Should simple tradition decide?

(Please do not give me the polygamy= abuse, domination explanation; there are many abusive monogomous marriages.)

Furthermore, an answer that states that polygamy can be banned
because it would change society too much sounds a lot like what
many conservatives are saying about gay marriage today.

FYI ... I am a conservative, straight guy, who is just trying to fully understand my position on gay marriage.

HELP US !!! palestinians have to deal with american-made most modern weapons (apache, M16, all sophisticated missiles, and everything that USA can give). They are the most sophisticated weapons that are ever used against defenseless civilians in history. Israelis kill palestinian brutally, they buried people ALIVE in the rubble of their homes, or shot them in the head (if you dont believe me, open http://www.halturnershow.com/israeliatro...

Israel also bombs Palestinian powerplants, making all Palestinians live in darkness. Palestinian government cannot build the new plants, at they have no money because palestinians taxpayers' money are held by Israel and israel doesnt want to return it to palestine. So there will be no electricity in palestine, at least for next few years.

If your fatherland are treated that way, would you fightback? Palestinians are trying to fight back with whatever they can, but they are marked terrorist because of that. I wonder why people don't mark Israel as terrorist.

I guess I don't get the intent of the fifth amendment. If telling the truth or answering a question incriminates you - isn't that the purpose of justice, to find the truth and prosecute the offender?

I just get riled when a person is asked a question and his lawyer whispers in his ear and he then smugly invokes the fifth and refuses to answer the question.

Enlighten me.

What the hell happened to America? Why do we allow publicity for the huge sissies around here that are opposed to torturing terrorists.

Hell, I was pissed off because we were forced to resort to "extreordinary rendition". Why should we have to outsource torture to Yemen or Egypt? What the hell are we paying our CIA for?!

Wake up lamebrains! The enemy doesn't abide by any code of honor, and mere "waterboarding" is too good for the bastards. We should be pulling their fingernails out and mutiliating their genitals if thats what it takes!

For 15 years, twice a year, I got to a Mineral, Crystal and Fossil show. These shows go on for about a week. During that week I see people from all over the world interact; Americans, Brazilians, Australians, Afghani, Indians, French, Germans, etc. At the end of each day, we gather and talk. Most of us have seen each other at this and other similar shows for years. We all get along. There is a great deal of fellowship and friendship.

Have you seen similar occurances? Do you think that if it wasn't for governments, religions and power mad individuals, all of us "common people" would get along and the planet might be a peaceful, harmonious place? Or am I full of it?

Tabloids and random people i've heard complain about the war so much, and how Bush is this and that, and then people from Iraq complain, and so far i've heard and read nothing but complaints, and only a few excerpts of anything good about us....so what would happen if Bush or whoever takes office in 2008 decided to tell everyone to go somewhere, and we do like we did in WWI and II and mind our own business? What would happen then?

unemployment is at 4.7%, i'm sure they are counting all of the fast food employees, and we just came through the harvest season, so they probably counted temporary help,, and predictably, bush took credit for the meager and temporary, ( pre november elections) drop in gas prices...Illegals may be able to work taco bell, but they can't vote yet, i don't think,,,so i guess he feels that the actual voting American will swallow his B.S. and run blindly to the polls and vote republican, well, folks, this is one all American voter who ain't gonna do no such thing...

Suppose you have a municipal judge that has a lack of evidence in a case where someone was suspected of driving under the influence. There was a blood test for drink and drugs which showed nothing in her system but when the defendant presented the paper to the judge he glanced at it and tossed it on his desk. Her public defender is a total moron. There has to be someone to turn to or ask someone else to review the case. Even the arresting officer said that he would happily go to court to testify on her behalf. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

2 fences a certain distance apart. With antipersonnel mines laid in between the fences. These are very cheap. Put signs in spanish and english and symbols warning people away and have directions on how to come over legally. If death was in the making perhaps illegals would go thru the proper channels and we wouldnt get the riff raff. What do you think?

My 27-year-old husband is thinking about going into law enforcement after serving as a Naval Officer. He had thyroid cancer last year and is fine now. He had his entire thyroid removed and now takes synthroid. Other than that, he is as healthy as can be. I know they check your medical background. Does anyone know if this would be a problem if he is trying to get a job as a police officer? We are going to check around here but just wondering if anyone knew. We are in So. Cal. Thanks!!!

Don't you find it amazing that wealthy celebrities continually ask middle America to give, give, give, when the spending habits of the average Hollywood movie star far surpass anything the average American could ever imagine? I continually marvel at the hypocrisy of celebrities who blame the US government for world hunger and poverty, yet somehow manage not to feel guilty about their villas in Italy, mansions in California, penthouses in NYC, and luxury vehicles in their garages. If every wealthy movie star donated a percentage of their earnings, proportionate to what many middle-class Americans donate, there wouldn't BE any more poor, hungry people, ANYWHERE in the world. We need to put pressure on Hollywood celebrities to stop this wasteful spending and GIVE MORE OF IT AWAY!!!
