This is why I have a problem with today's Neocons. They pretend to believe in God and the Bible; and turn around and ask oxymoronic question. The Bible clearly states that there will never be peace in that region. Read it again; when God reference Ismael and Issac. Later read the Book of Daniel and to add the topping to the cake, the Book of Revelations. It's all about the End Times. Therefore to summarize your inquiry with an answer; it ain't gonna happen. "Libs and Dems" along with everyone else; will never see stability and prosperity in the Middle East (Iraq, Iran, Syria, particularly).

The Middle East will never be stable, ever. They have so many religious factions, each with such militant leaders that the killing and massacres will go on. As for prospering, as long as they have oil, they (the rulers, sheiks and other "chosen" people) will prosper. That is the dilemma we face in Iraq: There is no way out. It has been suggested that it be divided into three equal sections so that the three factions can have their own domains. Then we could leave and when the killing resumed, we would not be in the middle of it.

That will never happen, they are not going to back down. When we leave the Middle East defeated who are you guys going to point the blame to? Oh by the way my husband is over there so stop acting like there are no Dems over in Iraq.

I was unaware of any US plan to make the Mid East "stable and prosperous."

If you are referring to establishing a democracy in Iraq, as well as removing a terrorist hotbed, that is a different story...

Remember, we are talking about the same people who simply rewrite history if European White males accidentally do anything noble in their blood thirsty quest for domination...

I truly have seen some Pollyanna's in my time, yet i think of you're taking the prize! The mideast has been a cesspit for hundreds of years. i does no longer carry my breath waiting on a staggering substitute of coronary heart from that element of the international if I have been you. getting in touch of their problems in basic terms brings you down with them. the superb human beings can wish for with that area of the international is wangling a standoff between them. And that demands international family, no longer weapons. Get a clue.

The middle east consists of numerous, unique religions. People mostly wage war due to religion. I doubt anything of what you said is going to happened. Maybe not in our lifetime. Maybe it will when people, not only in the Middle East, but the whole world realize that religion should not be used to kill or murder people.

I'll continue to drive my gas-guzzling V8 to support the oil barons of the Middle East. This will allow them to build lavish palaces to which I will never be invited, but I won't be bitter or jealous.
