Ok, I've always wanted to be a policeman, since I was just a nipper. Many of my friends and family say that it is a role I was born to do.
However (isn't there always a however), I no longer see the point. Police officers have no power in protecting the general public because the government tie their hands. They appear to spend their lives now catching speeding motorists (which although an understandable problem, not as important as protecting the innocent from criminals) and persecuting innocent people who are easy pickings.
I couldn't do that. I want my life to have some meaning, I want to help people and am willing to give my life to protect them from criminals. I could enter the system to try and fix it, but if I do that would I not become as useless as all the police officers we have already? trapped behind government red-tape and unable to fight effectively?
What do u all think?

Does Tony Blair really think he has done a good job leaving the UK in two wars in Afghanistan and Iraq and an Immigration mess and everybody in huge debt - it beggers belief that anybody can give this man a huge send off; the whole Labour party is made up of simple minds.

Seriously, Building a WALL??? Who are we trying to keep out? The people who work on our farms/dairies? Who do our landscaping and build our houses?
It's gotten to the point that marines are out there building our walls. The marines would be more useful tracking down the people who cause trouble stateside, not keeping people out. I mean, if we're going to use the marines for something out of their job description, shouldn't it be for something more important. Like building houses for the people who suffered after Katrina. Why is it that immigration has become such an issue?
I think Bush is just trying to sidetrack us from the REAL issues.
And he's doing a fabulous job.

With the exception of going away to war, I’ve been on the New Mexico, Mexico border all my 57 years, my neighbors and I see the whole issue differently from most of you, are we entitled to our opinions. Would you have me and my peers come to your neighborhood and tell you how to deal with the problems we perceive as problematic without your input?

Why should we follow the Geneva Convention, for example, on the issue of torturing information out of a terrorist, if the terrorist broke the Geneva Convention first, and they are therefore no longer held by the rulings of it? Also, the last time I checked, Al Queda isn't a country. The dissociate themselves from state borders, and they are not their own nation.

As a similar question, why should we treat an individual like an American citizen governed by the Constitution if they have shown no sign of upholding what the Constitution stands for?

I am trying to be unbiased, and I would like people to support whichever side they are on with further explanation and logic. I can understand this issue from both sides, but I want to know what other people think and why.

Write a five-paragraph essay defending or critiquing the laws as they regard “Quid Pro Quo” and “Hostile Environment.” These are the two laws most often used to prosecute sexual harassment cases. You are allowed to include subjects not related to these two areas but they should only have a minor part in your paper.

tell me what you guys think about this?

Situation: Grandmother & my sibling passed away at the same time last Oct. I am one of two beneficiaries to Grans Estate.
1 - I have yet to receive a COMPLETE copy of trust, specifically the schedule of assets.
2- The accounting I received (after insisting on it) of the trust is shoddy (missing check numbers, no indication of what some checks were issued for).
3- Gran had annuities & life ins that sibling was sole beneficiary. Annuities were not part of the trust. Do the proceeds go to her Estate as there is no living beneficiary?
Frustrated and unsure of how to proceed - is there someone out there with some advice (besides to tell me to just call an attorney.). Thanks.

this not only a war for money, power, and respect.

Think about it, first they wanted bin laden( a reason to get to the middle east) than iraq has weapons of mass destruction. been there for years no weapons. than a war against terrorism. for some odd reason every terrorist country is under the religion on islam. why? Now Iran got plans of building Nuclear weapons. The President of Iran Just wants to put Lighting in the houses.

Histroy is repeating its self. Samething with Adolf hitler with the Jews as is our President Bush With Muslims.

For example, Holocaust Camps that Hitler created for the jews and Bush and his military camps which he sends his so call suspected terrorist. samething people. its in the histroy book.

Finger pointing rhetoric has been dialed up this week following the Clinton/Wallace interview on Fox concerning who did what about terrorism. We cannot deny that there has been an escalating pattern of violence by terrorists against US interests since 1979. The honest truth is that Mr. Carter, Mr. Reagan, Mr Bush Sr, and Mr. Clinton did very little to take the fight to the terrorists. It is also true that Mr. Bush Jr. did little prior to 911. My question is who is really responsible for our lack of action in general?

In my opinion: The American people are responsible. Most of us knew very little about terrorism before 911, and didn't consider the the real threat posed. The reason I believe this is because even following the first World Trade Center attack in 1993 there was no great outcry from the people for action.

I am curious about your opinion, but this is not an open invitation to bash anyone.

i saw a very dumb question like five maybe four min. ago about the government being wrong or something. Does any one else feel that people who hate our country and live in our country are stupid. Should leave. And if they hate it so much why are they still here? They should be happy that they have the freedom to question our government without being killed.
