"Free" trade. Land of the "Free". Freedom: to be free from oppression. Is it just me, or is there a pattern here?

Government: from the word "govern", meaning to restrict, oppress, control.

What ever happened to "Live free or die"? When did it become "Live free, unless you make more money than me, then you deserve to be oppressed"?

Who said that? That's not even remotely true. Many of us do feel that government intrusion into free trade is not in the best long term interests of the country or the people.

Screaming Eagle - China received MFN status in 1980, on Jimmy Carter's recommendation, and that status has been confirmed every year since. That means that Clinton also sought MFN status for them, too.
